We were staying in a holiday home just a few minutes walk from this lovely pub. Although we didn’t eat here we came in a couple of times over the weekend. The landlord (Bri) was really welcoming and despite us being a loud group of 8 women we were given a vip table so we could watch the rugby on tv. Very fortunate to have found The Bay Horse following a bad experience at another pub in in Bedale. Lovely meal and great service at a very reasonable price. The owner and staff could not have been more accommodating and friendly and our the dogs were very welcome.

Lovely, traditional pub, blazing fires and friendly landlord. Best to let them know you are coming in the winter months. Good mannered dogs welcome.Vegetarian options: My vegetarian friend certainly enjoyed her homemade vegetarian chilli.Parking: Plenty of parking during the winter on week days, but imagine may be harder at weekends and in season.
