Just had food for ten people , couldn’t do enough to accommodate us , food was absolutely lovely , steak and ale pie best I’ve tasted , would highly recommend . Massive Thankyou

Lovely big room. Great location. Unfortunately poor night's sleep. This was because the pillows did not suit me. Mainly it was because there are 4 rooms coming off a small area ( maybe 2 Square yards) and you can very clearly hear everyone opening doors and walking immediately outside your door. In fairness, if you are a heavy sleeper, it would be perfect. Xx

Excellent friendly place and very courteous staff. Parking is very easy. The order was really nice, and I will definitely be going back when I'm down there again.

The atmosphere was very clicky not very warm welcoming.. £40 pound for 2 people to have Sunday Roast and a coke each... one parsnip, a spoonful of mash which tasted like packet and one rectangle plate of veg to share which has one table spoon of peas, 2 small florets of cauliflower which was over cooked or frozen and a table spoon of mashed carrots.. Won't be returning which is sad as always been lovely

This was our first visit to this pub and all we can say is how lovely our experience was. The waitresses were chatty and friendly and the food was fantastic. Home, cooked to order. Two of the party had Swaledale Sausage, mash and veg, one of us had steak pie, mash and veg and I had chicken burger, chips, onion rings and coleslaw. We all thoroughly enjoyed the meal and would recommend

Stayed here last night and was made to feel so welcome! Lovely clean room with tea and coffee available to make in room with spacious shower and toiletries. Claire and Steve (the new owners) are amazing and can’t do enough for you. Breakfast in the morning was exceptional as well. Highly recommend The Green Dragon, will be staying again very soon.

What a fantastic pub this is..stayed for one night..the selection of beers is excellent ?..the star of the show for me was the full English breakfast..couldn't fault it whatsoever...will definitely be back again soon ?

Lovely staff and service. Had run out of the kebabs that were personally recommended (at 7.30pm) and also my second choice of ham hock, but my third choice of pie of the day was great. The draft San Miguel was perfect.

Stopped here for a couple of nights, long weekend away... Christine was perfect host, very chatty and full of stories... Room was very clean and presentable, looking over Bedale market square... So lovely view, however it was somewhat noisy around 0600/0700 as shop deliveries took place on the street... Food was great.. Pub style meals but good quality.. very hearty... Breakfasts were good, fruit and cereal options... Cooked options too... Definitely recommend as a good quality BnB....Parking: There is a shared pub parking round the back of the pub, or there is free parking down the road.. Parking outside pub is limited to a couple of hours... Not far away, either option... But walking is required....Wheelchair accessibility: Rooms are all upstairs... Stairs are steep... Would not recommend if you struggle with stairs..

I booked The green dragon earlier in the year and the trip was just going to be for myself and my small dog. At a later date, my friend decided to come with me and I called the Green dragon to book her and her small dog in . I was informed that they only allow one dog, so therefore had to cancel the accommodation, which was on or around the 9th May. I received an email confirming the cancellation and screenshot it straight away, something I always do with bookings or purchases. I had to book somewhere else that allowed two dogs. I thought no more about it until I got back that weekend and looked at my banking. I had been charged full amount by the Green Dragon, £210. I phoned the Green Dragon and after two days of being unable to talk to the manager, as she was away overnight, I did eventually get to talk to Christine, explaining the situation and she said that their end it didn’t show that I had cancelled. I said I would send her the screenshot to avoid this happening again in the future but she said, ‘Don’t bother, I’m retiring in two weeks time, it won’t affect me’. How unprofessional and very unconcerned she was. Christine was very rude. I did send her the original screenshot in the end, but she said that was not good enough to get a refund. I had to send the original email, which I no longer had. It was only when I called them to add my friend on the booking, that I found out that only one dog was allowed. For this reason only I cancelled the booking. Why would I not cancel at this point. If two dogs couldn’t stay there, it was not possible for me to stay there and I had to find alternative accommodation. I cancelled there and then. I got the email confirmation of cancellation, but it is not my fault that their system failed to keep this information. It is very unfair that I had to pay for their mistake. I am being penalised for something which is not my fault. Christine has been very unhelpful and refuses to acknowledge any mistake made on their part. Christine would not even consider paying me half the amount back, which under the circumstances I thought would be the fairest way for both of us. I am £210 out of pocket.

We stayed at the Green Dragon Saturday night as we were attending a family party nearby in Bedale. We stayed in room 4, overlooking the courtyard to the rear of the pub. The room was clean and plentiful with a powerful shower. We had a few drinks and food on the afternoon, goid food, hospitality, and friendly locals on the bar. We were even allowed to park in next doors pub car park free of charge. Will definitely stay here again when we are next in the area.
