When you drive up its quite hidden, high conifers outdide, doesn't look open. Inside is very old looking, but welcoming with music playing in the backgroud log fire burning made it look really cosy, there is a good selection on tbe menu, I chose the belly pork, was not disappointed the piece of pork was enormous and the crackling was amazing vegetables were freshStaff lovely, well worth a visit would definitely recommend

Chose to go here tonight for our evening meal whilst staying nearby, honestly one of the best food places I've tried! If you love home cooked pub food you'll love this little gem :) felt really welcomed too.
Decided to go back after visiting a few years ago and the food was gorgeous compared to the last time I went will be visiting again

Food is fantastic, very reasonably priced for the quality. Everything is executed to a high standard, very flavoursome. Great service, you do have to order at the bar but it's no bother. Lovely visit.Kid-friendliness: Great children's menu

Never have I been made to feel so unwelcome in a pub. Called in for drinks on a Saturday night and the bar maid made it very clear from the minute we walked in that she didn't want us there. Reluctantly served us but told us we were getting in the way of people that were waiting to order food. We didn't realise that if you ordered food, you automatically jumped the queue of any inferior people that just wanted drinks. However, we stood aside and let that one person order. There was approximately 4 tables of diners so not exactly packed and you'd think they'd welcome any extra trade in the current financial climate but we were told we were not to sit at any of the tables as they were for diners only. Therefore, we did the only other thing we could do and we stood in the bar. We were then told that we couldn't stand there despite there being loads of room to get round us and that we'd have to go into a disused, damp smelling room at the back of the pub where the play area used to be. At this point, we finished our drinks and left never to return again. How foolish of the staff as we'd just commented on how the food looked quite nice and we might return to try it. My advice? Go to The Cottage in Hunmanby just a couple of miles away. We did and we were welcomed with open arms.
