We came to break our iftaar here after we were recommended by a regular, the restaurant was cosy with nice decor and the staff were very friendly and provided amazing customer service. The food was amazing and had authentic south Asian food, which was adapted to our spice tolerance. As a south Asian myself, I normally find food to be bland in York but this was far from bland. Overall I really enjoyed my time here and will be coming again

Fabulous friendly place with a great vibe. We wanted a couple of dishes not on the menu and the waiter confirmed they could make the dishes for us. Food was tasty and came out very quickly. Coffee afterwards was great and the added bonus is you can take your own drinks which made the whole evening very affordable. Will be our go to the next time we're in York!

We went there with our family and not a busy time also. The waiter or might be owner with little long and grey/black beard was very nasty and rude to us. We placed our order then wanted to order more naan. He was furious and staring at us and said we are very busy and don't do ROLLING ORDER. You can order once and can't order again as we are not doing rolling order. We were taken back by his behaviour and did not order more. I have been to restaurants around the world and have never come across such behaviour. He has very arrogant attitude and no respect for guests. He might be good to some English people as saw that attitude there and racist to some plus poor quality food compared to any good restaurant. Cannot even give that 1 star review

Fast and friendly service, delicious food and good value for money. We happened to be in on a Thursday when they had a deal for popadoms, starter and main course which is what we ordered

Outstanding food - our group had the Garlic Chilli Chicken, Prawn Vindaloo and a Kashmiri dish and all were totally delicious.Great poppadoms with fresh dips to start (including a spicy one that I’d not had before) too.Fab service from the waiting staff too. An all round great experience on a very busy night.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly

Certainly not the worst meal we've had, but a long way from being anywhere near the best. Called in for a takeaway the food was prepared quickly despite the restaurant being busy with Christmas parties, the front of house staff obviously didn't want to be there, but were polite enough, the price was about right, the mains and sundries were hot and tasted OK. Would I go back, no probably not.

The food was good with very large portion sizes. However, the delivery time was ridiculous. I ordered food at 5.50 pm, but the food did not arrive until 9.45 pm. This is complicated by the fact that they are on Deliveroo but use their own driver, who in this case tried to deliver to the wrong address and then prioritised other orders instead of dealing with mine. I would advise the resturant to not advertise on Deliveroo as it makes it very hard for the driver to be contacted. It also makes it hard to chase up your order or deal with it as Deliveroo are not responsible for the delivery. This is also not the first time we have waited over 2 h for food from this restaurant. I would only recommend this place to customers who are willing to collect.

The food is average/ ok, not great. It is further ruined by the rapeseed (vegetable) oil that they use in all food, and which they cannot swap with anything else even if you are allergic. They should know that vegetable oil is an inflammatory seed oil, which is harmful to everyone and not just people who are allergic to it, as similarly to sunflower oil it is high in omega 6 and linoleic acid, which damages cell membranes in the body when consumed. I would love to see them cooking with coconut oil, olive oil or goose fat. The toilets only have cold water, which really shows how much they care about their customers. Cheap but low quality.
Plus is that you take your own drinks, that’s where it ends! Grumpy service, chewy, grisly meat, watery sauce. Probably worst curry we have ever had. Won’t be back. Oh, and a constant stream of delivery drivers pushing past our table, very annoying.

The food was exceptional. They made us feel so welcome and the service was great. When we visit York again, this restaurant will be on the list as a go to. Remember if you want alcohol, take your own.
