Service was absolutely terrible. We were left waiting 40 minutes for our afternoon tea which was pre booked in Advanced. People who arrived after us were getting served before us and excellent service and check backs, we did not receive this service. The staff ignored our requests and did not check back on our table. After giving us our afternoon tea nobody returned to our table, we had to get up and go to RECEPTION to ask for some more water. I would like to note we were the only people of colour in at the time. I am absolutely disgusted with this service and expected better from an establishment such as guisborough hall. We left feeling singled out and this totally ruined experience.

We ate here while staying at Gisborough Hall and it was the highlight of the stay. There was a great buffet spread and good cooked options at breakfast. The dinner was reasonably priced, imaginative and very tasty. Would recommend.

We were staying in the hotel so dined here. The gentleman head waiter was very attentive and offered great service. He’s a credit to this hotel! The food was absolutely delicious. We only managed 2 courses in the end but each dish was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The duck spring roll or the ham hock were amazing! Our mains of the monkfish and chicken equally divine. We finished our meal with a liquor coffee in the drawing room. Definitely worth going although I’m not sure how often the menu is changed so you probably wouldn’t want to eat here every night unless you enjoy eating the same thing. The restaurant was a little quiet but it was a Monday evening and they had had a large birthday party in the other room.

Just returned from a lunch hosted at Gisborough Hall. The lunch was in the Long Hull. The table setting and presentation were reminiscent of a begone age of opulence. The three course meal was outstanding. The quality of the food was first class. Staff were friendly but professional and highly trained; Sharon, Wendy and Sarah. A thoroughly enjoyable experience at a brilliant local hotel.

The surroundings and the ambience of Gisborough Hall makes it a special place to eat. I must compliment the chef, as a Coeliac, the menu was wonderful; delicious and beautifully presented. The chef was able to adapt the menu to suite my dietary requirements and the dishes available made it difficult for me to choose. (this is not usually the case in most restaurants). The staff were friendly and attentive and the whole experience was made it very special for us; it was our 30th Anniversary. We are looking forward to visiting Challoner's Restaurant again in the very near future.

The food is excellent and we struggled to eat the three courses on offer. You do not have to have all three courses. There are some unusual dishes to try, all very tasty. We dined twice in this restaurant

We stayed for 3 nights and had our evening meal in Chaloners on 2 nights ( breakfast is served in Chaloners each morning). Cannot praise enough, definitely up there with other fine dining restaurants we have visited. A special shout out to the chef who at our request, ordered venison in especially for us (it wasn't on the menu) and it was absolutely amazing; would go as far as saying the best we've ever had. This alone will ensure this first visit, will definitely not be our last.

Food was beautifully cooked. Very small comment , it could have done with another vegetarian dish and changed a little more often

Had 3 night deal offering breakfast and evening meal. The food was exceptionally wonderful. Some items you could imagine would have been created on BBC MasterChef. Menu was a little restricted if you were staying for a week, but 2 days was no problem and the Cheese Soufflé starter and Orange cheesecake dessert were unmissable and had to be repeated. The cheese dessert was a bit disappointing and could have done with some oatcakes or crackers, but I am sure they would have provided this had I asked. The service in the restaurant was brilliant.

Very popular and you need to make an advanced booking to avoid disappointment. Good menu - the grills are recommended altogether an enjoyable experience.

We used Chaloners 3 times during our stay and the food was excellent. All the staff were helpful and friendly - nothing was too much trouble.

The lamb was excellent - quite a filling meal in itself. Cheese and biscuits was an adequate portion after the main course.
