This was the third time we visited and honestly we will not be returning. They seemed to forget we were there and had to go get a server on a couple of occasions. It is a shame as the previous 2 visits were really good. Some of the dishes we ordered were not the best and it all felt very rushed on the cooking side. I can understand some of the issues as we were a very large party but no excuse for the quality of the food and lack of service.

Visited for lunch after a walk round Fewston reservoir. Plenty of parking. Pub is large and well decorated / furnished. Staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Guinness was good. Stake sandwich was excellent and great value for money. The dog enjoyed drying by the fire. Will definitely pop in again, next time we’re passing.

Lovely high quality pub restaurant. Great staff, the food was incredible, and the location is beautiful. I had the feather of beef, my other half had the steak pie.Wheelchair accessibility: Generally good accessibility, but a couple of tight corners.

It was very busy which is very good. The food was very expensive for what it was and had to pay extra for Yorkshire pudding. The vegetables were so limited. There was no taste to my food at all under the people in my family said the same. The service was very slow and the staff were all over the place. Although there were very polite and helpful when they got to us. A bit more of a routine needs to be put in place. It’s a lovely building and lovely atmosphere. that’s why I gave it a three. Hopefully you can improve on these points. Thank you

I met some friends at the Nelson for lunch on a Monday.The place was busy which is a reflection on the excellent food and service. The menu is changed daily and the food is delicious.Friendly staff. Nice ambiance inside and very welcoming Highly recommend.

Fabulous Inn to visit when travelling to or from Harrogate! Friendly and professional staff ,Lydia the landlady treated us like long lost friends ! The service was excellent, drinks served in minutes .We can't wait to visit again and partake in the delicious looking food .

Can’t fault this place!! Amazing atmosphere and a definite family favourite! I have allergies which I admit can be hard work and the staff are always so helpful and the chefs are incredible! Have to mention how much choice there is for gluten free diets!! Beautiful pub beautiful food fabulous friendly staff and I’m told a “top notch” beer selection! Will definitely be back!

Frequently visit the Bull at Broughton (the Nelson’s sister pub) after learning the manager had moved over to harrogate we decided to have a drive out over the Christmas period, We were suprised at how big the Nelson was and may I add how busy, but the guy behind the bar managed to squeeze us in and as always the food, service and ambience were fantastic (we especially loved the Christmas tree by the front door) B and p are renowned for good pubs, so much so we’ve decided to try and visit as many as possible in the new year!
