We’ve eaten at Richard and Lindsay’s previous restaurants on a number of occasions, so we arrived here with high expectations and we were not disappointed. Wonderful Sunday lunch. As good as we’ve had in a long time. Beef was beautifully cooked and so tender. Nice cosy pub and Lindsay is a great host.

We enjoyed a cracking Sunday lunch at the plough the pub is warm and inviting the attention to detail from Lindsay and Richard is second to none the roast pork was divine as was my wife’s cod with dauphinois the desserts are well worth saving room for we enjoyed a chocolate pot and a special dessert of caramelised pear and sorbet e will be back

We had dinner at the plough. Food was superb and the newish hosts (they said they took over six weeks ago) were very friendly. Service was excellent. Relaxed cosy environment with excellent food and wine. Perfect

Delicious Sunday lunch. Traditional but with a high end feel. My husband’s soup was gorgeous as was my salmon starter. Both the beef & the pork were lovely. We went for the wine pairings and enjoyed them all. We shared the chocolate pot which was definitely 10 out of 10. Interesting choice of gins, including one with squid ink. Sounds revolting but actually nice. Really good experience hope to come back and try the evening menu. Good service.

Booked at rather short notice but managed to get a table for 6.30pm which suited our plans. Upon arriving ilwe were quickly seated and our drinks order was taken whilst we perused the menu. Just the right amount of choices for the main coarse. All three of us settled for different mains and all three were outstanding for taste even if it took slightly longer than normal for them to appear. As the chef works alone I can understand the delay. The food was outstanding and although we didn't take advantage of the excellent choice of wines we made do with mineral water and the odd pint. The service was excellent and mine host was most helpful in explaining the various dishes along with the young waitress who was really helpful. If I am ever in the area again I will certcall again.

The Plough is back in business with Lindsey and Richard formerly of The Hovingham Inn and Raskills. Delighted they are back in Ryedale at this lovely country dog friendly pub. Sunday lunch is superb hard to find better!

We visited The Plough for a family Sunday lunch, with our niece, her husband and toddler. Steve is a wheelchair user, and we had two dogs with us. Basically we were a nightmare! Lindsay found us a great table, where we were all comfortable. The food was delicious, my niece doesn’t eat meat, and had stonebass with orzo, and I had wonderful roast pork with all the trimmings. The atmosphere was calm and unhurried. Highly recommended!

Lindsey & Richard never fail to impress. We drove 1 1/2 to experience there food in this new venture. Hospitality and atmosphere 10/10 , food 11/10 bloody amazing, Thoroughly recommend the Pork for mains and chocolate orange pot and homemade baileys ice cream for desert. We have tried a few different things on there menus now, both past and present and all has been amazing. I have even eaten things that i don't normally like and its been amazing. This alone is testament to Richards culinary skills. I cannot back and shout about this couple enough. Please give them a try and i'm sure you'll be really pleased. Feel free to reply back if i'm wrong. One thing is for sure, we'll definitely be returning again. Thanks again Lindsey and Richard You are at the top of your game.

Visited for Sunday lunch and it didn't disappoint. The roast pork with amazing crackling, huge Yorkshire puds, roast potatoes, carrot, broccoli and cauliflower cheese are served with a delicious gravy. Richard certainly knows how to create a good plate of food! Good selection from the bar - Black Sheep and Inches cider for us. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Such a nice pub with outstanding food - it's going to become a regular for us

We had a Sunday lunch here and it was just lovely. The pub has been taken over, totally revamped, and is now to be regarded as a go to place for fine food. We very much look forward to trying the various dishes that we hope will be on offer. If you are in the area, then a meal here will be a real treat.

We got wind that Richard & Lindsey had resurfaced here. Having followed this couple from The Falcon, Rascills and more recently, Hovingham, we made the trip from East Yorkshire. A superb dinner ensued. Meal highlights, the lamb rump on tomato and saffron risotto. Worked wonderfully. Amazing flavours on the plate. The re worked cheesecake sundae was a dessert of champions. Very light but with pin point flavours. As we've come to expect, a lovely wine list to choose from. Would definitely recommend getting in early to enjoy a drink in the bar. Which on our visit was absolutely packed. Lovely chat with Lindsey, who hasn't lost any of her ability to manage a room full of customers. Went with her wine suggestions which were on point. One wine in particular I would not of ordinarily chosen but glad went with the recommendation. Have to say the sheer quality of the food belies the fact chef Richard is working with no assistance. Always been amazed at what this guy can produce. Especially in comparison to one or two other establishments we have visited. One being a very poor showing at a recent michelin starred place. Super food & hospitality. Great to see this couple back in the game.
