Excellent Sunday lunch. Roast beef was superb and huge Yorkshire pudding. Good value for two courses. Portion size was large. Lindsey an excellent host. Would highly recommend. Will be back.

Called in for a drink & some cake. Both were excellent & the hot chocolate, was the best we have ever tasted. Would thoroughly recommend & will happily return next time we are in the area.

Gavel & Bean

Nice and clean café with friendly service and an excellent selection of home made cakes. The Bakewell tart was one of the nicest I’ve ever had! I only stopped For coffee and cake so can’t judge the other food. However the bacon sandwich that a man at the next table had looked really good with lots of bacon. Toilets were also modern and kept clean.

Black Swan

The Black Swan, 11 Market Pl, Kirkbymoorside, York

We went for a lovely meal at the Black swan on 25th August 2022. I had chicken breast with garlic and mushroom sauce, new potatoes, perfectly cooked purple cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and freshly roasted parsnips. We shared the veg and hubby had the steak and ale pie. All fresh cooked. No artificial flavours detected. Service was excellent and price was possibly half of what we would have expected for an equivalent dine out down south. Couldn’t fault anything. Even the toilets were good! Well done guys

White Swan

With its beamed ceilings and small L-shaped bar the White Swan has a nice, cosy feel to it and on a quiet evening, when both pubs were almost empty, we much preferred the White Swan to the Black Swan across the road. We enjoyed pleasant service and ditto re the beers. PS - we also had a pint in the George and Dragon, but as that is a bit of a “foodie” pub, I don’t really count it in such comparisons.

Corner Cafe

12 Market Pl, Kirkbymoorside, York

Wandered into this lovely little cafe to try and get a buttie and coffee. No customers were in at first but as usual it filled up once I was in. I had a huge delicious Cappuccino coffee and a huge also very delicious bacon and egg and tomato sani, in a naughty white tea plate sized bap, as soft and tasty as you might hope for. All served with a lovely smile and in good time. And,..... I was sitting next to a lovely hot radiator on this wet wintery day. Guaranteed to cheer up a sad face in this lovely place. I will definitely come again and recommend it here. Can't wait actually. Thankyou Corner Cafe.

Star Fast Food

We always come here when we are up this way, the pizzas are great and the grilled chicken kebabs are lovley loads of salad, onions and peppers and sauces. I would highly recommend.
