Ordered a delivery as an early treat for mother's day/my mum's birthday. Ordered a beef burger meal, described as a double burger with cheese onion rings and chips, was only a single burger.Ordered a chicken burger meal which was meant to come with onion rings and chips, came with a single tiny chicken burger in a massive bun, no onion rings, no chips (FOR £10!!). Had to share one tiny portion of chips between three of us, paid nearly £35 for us all to still be hungry. The fish bites we ordered were the only thing that was right. Staff were very unhelpful on the phone. Claiming the chicken burger doesn't come with onion rings or chips even when the description for "chicken burger meal" states it does. I understand they can't send a redelivery of food out with it being a third party delivery company but honestly an absolute joke. What happened to checking orders before they're being sent out?! Fuming, will never order a drakes again.

We Regularly visit Drakes for Fish and chips,they are The Best in The whole of the Harrogate district! We prefer to use the take away bit have used the restaurant once. The Fish is a good size and Delicious and the chips are great too.Keep up the Good team effort Drakes!

Chose Drakes to go to for our tea. So glad we did. The restaurant was clean and looked lovely with its Christmas decorations. The staff were friendly and helpful. The service was quick and efficient. Lots of condiments out on table . The fish and chips were gorgeous. Food was lovely and hot. Portions were nice and big. Could not have asked for anything better food and service wise. Highly recommend Drakes.

Just because somewhere is in a popular tourist spot, it shouldn't mean you can 'skimp' on quality / service etc. £66.25 for 5 people isn't bad with tea / coffee / bread (half a slice each) - and I had a prosecco. That said, the quality of my fishcake was shocking - chewy and greasy. My stepson's chips weren't as nice as ours - and I suspect with the wait between his and my grand-daughter's and ours, our chips were freshly cooked. The wait initially was far too long - over 40 minutes. The place itself lacks any kind of atmosphere. The staff didn't seem too happy to be there, barely a smile. Nope, I wouldn't recommend it. I guess they don't really care about reviews given most people are like us - tourists - who may visit once / twice a year.

The food here is totally consistent in quality and quantity. Can find no fault. Always perfectly cooked and presented. Staff are efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. Love eating here.
Aiway excellent service and quality .Visited on numerous occaions this year and last.The staff polite courteous and heloful .Would recomend.

Visited yesterday fish and chips twice one being gluten free one normal once arrived the gluten free had a blob of curry sauce on chips we didn't order curry sauce. Also some of the chips was overcooked fish was lovely wasn't the best service waitress walked away while trying to ask her something anyway we eat the food paid and went .don't think jamie the owner would be happy.

So… ordered a takeaway through just eat…. Part of the order turned up! Part was very wrong… I ordered southern fried chicken and chips £10:40… which I received and all I can describe as chicken nuggets!…5 pieces. No chips ?♀️I complained and was told it was just eats fault and I can get a bag of chips delivered in the hour!!!… or free fish and chips next time..I was starving so opted for the other… and made toast instead! ? I may call in but delivery is because I like delivery….Chinese next time me thinks! ?

Nipped in here for lunch on Sunday . We had such a lovely polite young man take our order . I think his name was Matthew. The food was beautiful . They had no cod but we were just as happy with the haddock . Best fish ive ever had ,the batter was light and crispy .Lovely place . Would highly recommend and if we are ever back up that way ,we will definately go back
