We enjoyed a fabulous Sunday lunch on 17th of March. My husband and I both had pork which was excellent. The service was very good too even though it was busy. We've been before as we were staying at the nearby caravan site within walking distance. We had our dog which was no problem. We highly recommend this pub!

Goldsborough Hall

It's a curate's egg. The Dinners in the old dining room are first class. The library and lounge are splendid rooms, and the main staircase is superb.Not-so-good are the rather cramped accommodations to the rear, and the large room used for teas and breakfasts. Albeit light and airy this big room is uncarpeted and a bit noisy, and also serves as the throughway to the back rooms.I have not seen any of the bedrooms in the main part of the house so I can't comment. The staff are generally very good. The booking system is annoying. We received an endless stream of reminders and requests from the automated system. They should use a different one.

Stumbled across this place by accident. Built up a good appetite with a walk by the river and this place certainly did not disappoint. Food for the soul type place - limited but well curated menu : Brit fry up classics + pies. Cracking music - loads of Trojan, ska, that kind of thing - all great and nothing too heavy. Staff were really nice and friendly and attentive. Great breakfast. Lovely atmosphere and loads of interesting art and bits around was a feast for our eyes. Anyway thanks. Would highly recommend and it’s now my #1 choice for a day time bite and cuppa if I’m ever in Knaresborough.Parking: 2 hour disc zone we parked right outside the front.

Another fabulous lunch with great food. We were lucky, being a party of 7, but were quickly accommodated. It's really good, and we'll definitely be back again.

Well worth the walk from town to this pub set in a stunning location by the river and only a 12 minute river walk to the ? station although there are 80-odd steps to climb along the way. 4 cask ales available along with a large wine selection plus hot beverages.

Nice little cafe with some lovely cakes. Great service. Coffee is good. As this place is very very small and quite popular, you'll often be lucky to get sat down at all!

When I lived in Knaresborough I came here regularly with my fiancé, This time we made a special visit from Shropshire where I now live because we enjoy it here so much.I went with my partner, son, his partner and their little boy who is less than two. The staff here could not have been more helpful and even remembered us from 18 months ago.The food here is fantastic, I can honestly say it is my favourite Indian restaurant bar none. I had my favourite dish Naga Takari, and it was just as good as I remembered. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, please visit if you get a chance.Parking: The easiest parking is in the market place which is free after 6 then a very short walk between Thomas’ Bakery and Cafe Nero. Zilsha is in front of you on the opposite side of the road.Kid-friendliness: The staff were fantastic with my Grandson who is under two years old. He was a bit grumpy at first but they went to loads of trouble to make sure he was OK to the point of moving tables around for us.

we turned up without booking and little early before they served food . no problem , very friendly staff , ordered the " codfather " which was just fish and chips but a really big fish . It was delicious. others had pies and said they were lovely. can see why it's no1 on trip advisor. Only disappointment is we only came to Knaresborough for one day but easily the best pub we have visited on our holiday

We went for the 2 for 1 offer at lunchtime. It was quite busy. We got seated quickly. The menu was varied. Our service was satisfactory; swift but not the friendliest. The pub-grub, however, was top-notch and definitely value for money. We will go again.

Great spot to unwind … highly recommend any time of the year. Summer the garden is fantastic to kick back and enjoy the rays. In winter or rain the fire should be on and there nothing like a pint and sitting in front of a fire. Maybe read a book too for that perfect

Called here for a breakfast and a latte and was very glad I chose this place. Beautiful full English breakfast served by lovely friendly staff. Nice touch of blankets in the outdoor seating area for when it's not quite as warm as you'd imagined. I'll definitely call again.
