I got a steak and kidney pie and a curds and whey tarts. The pie was amazing, the tenderest steak and the biggest bits of kidney I have ever got, in a steak and kidney pie. The pastry was really good too. I would have given 5 stars, but the tart let it down, I have had better, some of the currants were hard as bullets. I knew I should have had the last 2 Eccles cakes!!

Very over priced. One sandwich with tuna and cucumber £4.49. 2 slices of brown bread spread with tuna and 4 pieces of cucumber really a rip off

What a great local Bakery to purchase freshly made sandwiches, pies & cakes. We were staying locally and just wanted some fresh food to eat back at our hotel. This was perfect. Also, so nice to be able to support a local business, rather than a large multi-national one. Great service with a smile.

We have to stop here whenever we come to Knaresborough. The cakes are amazing, and the staff are lovely. Always up for a chat and advise on what to order. The carrot cake was the nicest ever! And my son recommends the

We went here to get some pies and cakes for bonfire night and although the lady serving was pleasant I was shocked that she didn’t use tongs or gloves to pick any of the food up it’s just not good hygiene as far as I’m concerned . The food did look delicious though .

We made a point to stop by here to sample their delicious warm pork pies. Verdict? Delicious! We even took some away to freeze for later enjoyment. Towards the end of our visit to this quaint town we returned to indulge in their apple turnovers - full of cream and delightfully wicked! Oh, and the staff, whilst extremely busy were patient and friendly. Thank you!

Delicious and good value. The pork pie with apple on top today was great. We got sandwiches too and brought home a Victoria sponge to eat with cups of tea - so light and tasty.

I specifically asked if the strawberry tarts had custard in which they replied yes they did. Got home to Leeds and found it contained cream instead. I can't stand cream so total waste of money!

The take-away pork pie with a mint and pea topping was a gem. It will last long in the memory. So fresh and tasty and great water crust pastry.

A lovely corner bakery - Cornish Pasty & Apple Pork Pie were brilliant & the lady who served us was great, would happily go back! ?*As other reviews say, it would help to display the prices of items, but they are not by any means overpriced.

We just dropped in during lunch time and got lovely served: a grilled ham and salad sandwich, a chicken breast salad sandwich and a divine cream croissant… it was just delicious!!! Everything absolutely fresh and of high quality… Thanks a lot for this lovely lunch we had afterwards in the castle garden… Kindest regards, Jörg ja and Clemens from Germany.

Called in today, 09/08/23 and was charged £8.90 for a small uncut white loaf and 1 plum and almond tart!! I didn't hear the price but gave a £10 note, the shop was busy so made a quick exit so people could get served and it wasn't until I looked at the change I thought ?? not one to make a fuss I took it on the chin as I didn't want to make an issue infront of a shop full of people. But on a good note, the bread and the tart are lovely.
