We have been a few times the food was absolutely gorgeous Just like the pictures but unfortunately we have been today and I don’t know what has happened, it was completely different and such a letdown we will not be going again. I know Bad reviews are not good for any business but in this case I feel I have put one on to let others know.

Visited for food, have been before several times and the food was absolutely lovely. Just like in many of the photos here. Was One of the best Sunday lunches how has it got so awful?! On a recent visit we were massively disappointed by the poor food standard. Food was burnt. Fish tiny and batter was overcooked, served with cheap freezer skinny chips - don’t be taken in by the lovely chunky chips in photos. It used to be like that but not now. veggie sausages were burnt. Burger burnt including the bun. How do you burn a bun?! Bad quality and such a massive letdown. Sadly we won’t be going back. I wanted to send food back and get money back but husband didn’t want a fuss. Please bring back the standard it used to be!!!

Nice place, but took a family in and as we were ordering 5 meals they refused to serve us food, although the kitchen was operational, we were told our party was too large. Not expected

New yrs day obviously understaffed and felt for the ladies behind the bar. Never known so many people in a pub asking for coffee's and teas which was obviously time consuming. Much of the menu wasn't available -bar lady said they had run out of a lot of food. Had 2 scampi and chips-small portions 1 fish and chips said to be good, and one wensleydale cheese and pickle baguette with a few chips and warm coleslaw which i didn't risk eating (also no pickle on the baguette) So basically a cheese baguette and a few chips for £13.00. Overall not good value. Pub had character but needs a refurb and the journey to the gents is a bit of an epic -not great for the elderly! Sorry but not a great experience

We came in on New Year’s Eve without a booking and the staff were so incredibly accomodating, and even helped those of us with dietary requirements by serving us off menu. We were totally blown away by their kindness and generosity - cannot recommend this lovely pub & the team enough. (And the veggie burgers were delish!)

Fantastic pub! Came for lunch with friends and our children (and our dog!). Just brilliant. Lovely cosy atmosphere, good selection of beers, more than happy with kids / dogs. Friendly staff, food was great, good-sized portion for the price. Can’t fault it at all (the walk to the men’s toilets upstairs is a little bit of an adventure ?). Would definitely come again. Top work guys!

Booked in for a family meal on New Year's Eve. Having sat down, ordered drinks, chosen our meals having watched everyone else's meals come out, we were then told that the chef was only going to do roast dinners as everything else on the menu had run out. They apologised but none of us wanted a roast dinner so had to find somewhere else to eat. Really poor. Can't actually believe that everything on the menu ran out at the same time. A rubbish way to run a business. Unhappy New Year!

Dog friendly pub and restaurant. Good menu and varied selection of beers. Prices overall were a bit higher than the other pubs in town eg £19 for house wine Steak and ale pie with shortcrust pastry was tasty.

Saturday night stay, friendly welcome from behind the bar even though it was busy. Shown to our room by a pleasant young lady. Clean spacious room with tea/coffee/drinking chocolate, also biscuits and plenty of storage space. Lovely evening meal and breakfast. Only downside is the plumbing noisy and doesn't ebb away quickly. Would stay again though.

Fantastic pub ....landlady was great chatting to us about the dogs ...will return to try the food. Lovely place Leyburn and best pub in the village ..

Landlady rude, we had an issue which i reported to the staff, the land lady never acknowledged me at the bar waiting, she just carried on talking to another member of staff, i reported the issue to another member of staff who came behind the bar, my issue was then repeated to the land lady who basically didn't believe me ! She disagreed with what i was reporting, she never apologised, checked we were ok or even introduced herself at the start, the rest of the staff, 2 girls working behind the bar and serving breakfast along with a young guy were ok though.

Visited with the family for lunch, were made very welcome by staff, lovely cosy atmosphere among the diners/regulars. We ordered four different meals, everyone of our party couldn't fault the food, very reasonably priced too. Definitely on the list for a re-visit.
