We called in the Crown on Sunday. Lovely atmosphere, fire roaring, very welcoming. Thanks you for providing our group with evening meals, outside your normal service time.

Food was nice, well cooked and served in a tiely manner. Service was fabulous. Downside was that we were unable to book a table. Loud environment being a great village pub (shoot plus stag do!)Parking: Small amount of parking available in front of the pub. Public car park a few meters away with an honesty box system in place.

Lovely food and welcome. Ate here twice on recent holiday and food was very tasty and freshly prepared. Roast lunch on Sunday was excellent. Very friendly owner who also helped me move my car( how more helpful than that) Plenty of seating outside and parking at the rear. Dog friendly

Long wait for a table and food, and we didn't feel very welcome there. A locals pub which was very busy with drinkers. Abrupt service. Food was sub-par. Avoid the garlic bread. We wouldn't eat here

My children and I ate here on Sunday whilst holidaying in the area. Nice to see a busy pub. Food served pretty quickly. We all had the steak pie with mash and vegetables. It was really good. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and the mash was delicious. The pie was outstanding. If the pub had been open on Monday we would have been back. Served by a lovely pleasant young waitress. Great place!

Loved this village pub. Obviously the locals pub as it was full of farmers. We didn't have anything to eat, but from what we saw it looked good and plentiful. Drinks were well priced as well. If in Askrigg drop in and give it a whirl. Bet you go back.

A lovely, friendly traditional pub with a small selection of real ales; the Semer Water (Wensleydale Brewery) is fantastic! My son and I had the steak pie, and my wife had the vegetable lasagne and we were all very happy with it. This was our fourth visit in three years and it is always good at The Crown Inn. Much recommended.

If you want to drink here fine but don’t have a meal. Food was dreadful My Korean stir fry had prawns that were definitely off apart from that zilch presentation.. a bowl full of thick chunks of steak poorly cooked noodles swimming in a sweet glutinous sauce. My husbands ‘homemade’ pie had little meat and a thin gravy. We were offered a refund on my meal but no apology. Needless to say we won’t be returning.
