Brilliant pub. Landlady is lovely, and the pub itself has a wonderful atmosphere. Very traditional. Lovely food as well.

Most importantly, this pub serves great ale. You never fail to get a perfect pint of Landlord here. The food portions, as others have mentioned, are massive. Whale and chips are particularly good value and always great and tremendous value for money. Finally, again as oft mentioned, the building is great and the landlady is a real character. Thoroughly recommended.

Lovely Sunday dinner. Roast beef was rare enough to be super tender and no complaints with the pork or lamb either. Plenty of fresh vegetables and onion gravy for those who wanted it. Will definitely be visiting again in the

Great authentic and quirky boozer with good prices and always excellently kept cask beers.

Lovely cosy pub with great food. Although listed in Camera guide it has a very limited limited selection of real ales due to the tiny size of the bar.

Absolutely fantasticservice and food at sensible prices. We had the Meat Pie and Lamb Shank. Loads of veg. Pie was big enough for 2! Super landlady. Obviously well supported by mature locals. Wish we were local! Beach soon.

I ate out with a friend at the Blue Ball Inn on Friday night. We both opted for fish and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce. The batter was light and crispy. The fish had succulent thick flakes. The chips were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The portion was big but we both managed to finish it. The meal was scrumptious. Service from both the waitress and Christine behind the bar was fantastic. As well as the meal, I had 2 pints of Timothy Taylor’s Landlord which was lovely. My share for the meal and drinks was about £20 which was fantastic value.

what a great place to go too....it may look a bit tired from outside but the friendliness inside is very warm and welcoming. We had Sunday lunch today and it was a great joy with fresh veg lovely choice of meets in big portions followed by an enormous cheese and biscuits. My wife sticky toffee pudding and custard was nearly a step too far but washed down with excellent beer it was a joyous occasion. If you don't go its your loss as we will be back again on Thursday and everyone who enjoys good honest food and comfort should not miss it ,thank you all at the Blue Ball

Very much a locals pub but you're made very welcome by the staff. Bit off the beaten track but well worth finding. Food excellent, good quality and Yorkshire sized portions. Good choice of handpumped beers. Very much an old Yorkshire pub and full of tradition as you'd expect. Car parking a short distance away. Bus and railways staions 10 minutes distant.

Had Sunday lunch with my wife and son and enjoyed a traditional roast. Never been before but it was convenient and got good reviews. We weren't disappointed as the food was hot tasty and plentiful. This is a traditional local pub offering excellent value and friendly service. I got the impression that many of the patrons were regular diners which in itself is a recommendation.Parking: There is no on site parking but there is a large public car park nearby which is free on SundayWheelchair accessibility: This is an old building with the dining area arranged at various levels. Some street level tables should be wheelchair accessible as there is no step up into the building.
Dropped in for a drink - excellent real ale.
