Coach & Horses
1 Scarborough Rd, Rillington, MaltonOften driven past, never stopped until recently. Very glad we did. A very nice pub; good service, nice ambience and wide selection of drinks and bar snacks. Didn't have food on this occasion unfortunately, but wouldn't hesitate to do so when we hopefully pay another visit in future.

Royal China
39-41 Commercial St, Norton, MaltonThe food is all cooked fresh to order, and tasted fantastic. They were short staffed when we were there, but were really apologetic about our food taking slightly longer than usual and gave us free drinks to make up for it. They were also run off their feet with delivery orders. The food was definitely worth being a little patient for.

Morrisons Cafe
Castlegate, MaltonOne of the better Morrisons Cafe's. Visited on a busy Saturday lunch time when there were very few vacant seats. Lunch was served quickly and tasted good. Seemed that it was a well run cafe.

Peasey Hill Fish and Chips
4 Milton Ave, MaltonHappened upon this chippy when travelling, and it's clearly a popular one. Lovely light and crispy batter on the cod (generous portion too) and the chips were a good mix of soft and crispy. Oh, and chip spice is available too. Top notch.

Malton Relish
58 Market Pl, MaltonHappened upon this lovely little deli/café by accident and couldn't have been happier. We had two superb sandwiches for lunch (the roast beef was fab), chatted with the friendly staff, and enjoyed the pretty little cafe's cosy atmosphere. Our little Scottie dog even got a 'special treat' from the deli counter which made us love the place even more! Highly recommend for a tasty lunch with excellent quality ingredients.

The Royal Oak
26 Market Pl, MaltonNever been made to feel more welcome in a local pub. Everyone was friendly. We arrived wanting to watch the F1 on Sky sports and was swiftly accommodated. The toilets were clean and products were left available for use by patrons, which was a really kind touch. The pub is 100% dog friendly and our pooch was greeted with snacks and a toy and told he had free reign as the beer garden and pub were secure. If you are in Malton and want to pop into a regular pub with excellent service, I recommend the Royal Oak wholeheartedly.

Speedy Pepper
26 Yorkersgate, MaltonThe staff were very pleasant and friendly. My husband had a donner kebab which he thoroughly enjoyed and would definitely go to speedy pepper again. I had the chicken parmo and it was disappointing, decidedly average at best. Having said that, I would go again and try something different from the extensive menu, just not a parmo.

Lutt & Turner
12-14 Market St, MaltonA great cafe. The cakes we had were delicious. It's quite small to fit a buggy in, however, staff asked us to wait until a bigger table became free so we could fit in. The homemade Battenburg cake was delicious.

The Library
16 Market St, MaltonWe visited on Saturday over Easter weekend. I was amazed, and loved the secret door. The atmosphere was wonderful, peaceful and choice of drinks were very good, whisky wise. It reminded me of Narnia, a little secret world away from the madness . Thank you for the experience guys.

The Cross Keys Dinner by Uovo
47 Wheelgate, MaltonWe have been wanting to try Uozo at The Cross Keys for some time, and we finally got round to it last night. I’m so glad we did. We had the tasting menu, consisting of 7 courses and my husband had the flight of wines to pair with each dish. Every dish was carefully planned and beautifully executed with sometimes an unusual choice of wines, but that seems to me to be the point of a tasting menu; to try unusual dishes and wines. Everything was beautifully cooked and presented from the champagne granita with the Lindisfarne Oyster to the local brewery stout ice cream. In between a delicious artichoke veloute and a delicate stone bass. Each dish was a treat and the service was attentive and informed. My husband has coeliac disease and this was taken very seriously in the preparation of the food. David and Matt (I think) are a great team and passionate about the food and wine. Thank you for an oasis of calm and deliciousness in the pre Christmas rush, such a treat.
