We discovered this wee gem a couple of weeks ago while visiting Malton and it was the best afternoon we have had in a traditional pub in a long time!! The decor is gorgeous and welcoming..Terry was a terrific host and we met the lovely locals. We came in knowing nobody and left with a warm heart and wanting to return. Don't change anything it's brilliant!!!@

Quaint is how I'd describe it. Nice atmosphere, full of locals and felt we had dropped back 40 years to the way pubs used to be. Don't expect the polish of modern pubs, rather a jumble of furniture and rooms.

What a lovely pub. Our first time popping in after work, and we have really enjoyed it. Great pricing and great drinks, as well as the friendly locals and the nice atmosphere. The lady behind the bar was very nice as well. Cant wait to come back!

Honestly very annoyed we are a very polite group of people maybe pop in ounce every couple of weeks on our days off for a social chat and business discussion always been very nice environment and a nice pint of Guinness but some shot glasses 2/3 got broke honestly no idea how and the owner after we apologised wouldn’t let it goa friend who was our driver for the night who was sober very kindly offered to pay for the broken shot glasses and the owner said we are disrespectful so used physical force and pushed him and refused to serve uswe clearly didn’t want anymore drinks not that we had a lot one pint and one shot and was only trying to make everything right no need for the attitude at all was completely uncalled for considering our friend was being super nice and understand and only tried to make a mend very disappointed in the attitude given by the owner lost our friendship group business completely

Really lovely old pub with lots of little snug areas. We went on Friday and Saturday evening. Friday we went before dinner and there were people there but it wasn't too busy. Saturday we went back about 10pm and it was busy and there were people singing along really loudly to music. We sat in a snug (really lovely one at the front right that's like a iving room) and shut the door (we had oldies with us) and that was absolutely fine. Got the benefits of the atmosphere without having to listen to the awful singing haha. The barman was lovely every time we went in there.

Lovely pub for a pint after shopping. Three different rooms so there's always somewhere to sit. The beer is very good and it's always very tidy. It's also dog friendly!
