Went on a cold new year's day. Just what we needed to get warmed up.Kid-friendliness: We went in for a warm, the wife I got a coffee. The daughter (9) was offered a cup of hot chocolate but chose a tub of ice cream instead. Just what you need after a cold walk on the moors.

Have been coming to Suggitt's for an ice cream since I was a lad visiting my grandparents in Ayton... I now live in the village and still love the ice cream ? ?
Lovely ice cream, reasonably priced.Good selection of pick and mix, however nearly everything is priced individually and not by the 100g like nearly everywhere else I've been. As a result the individual items can be particularly expensive. Two medium ice creams, and the sweets pictured came to £4.33.Worth going for the ice cream and a walk opposite the road along side the river/small waterfall.

Not sure how this place has the reputation it has. The staff are bordering on rude, the place is dirty and a mess, dead flies in the windows, zero attention to any form of detail. I asked for a 99 and she said what size, I said what size is there (nothing is on display, it’s all from another counter so you can’t see the cones or ice cream)? She said sarcastically “small… medium… large!” I said well as I don’t know what each is I’ll have the middle one. Even the guy behind me said “wow” at her tone. We then asked if they have any chocolates with strawberries in, she said “you have to tell me what you want or point at them as I don’t know what’s there”. Ice cream was ok I suppose.
