While on a short break in the area we came across cedar barn. Had lunch there. The lasagna was amazing. The service was good and friendly. It was great value for money too. Got 2 ribeye steaks from the farm shop which were the best flavoured steaks we have had in a long time. Will definitely go there again when up in the area.

Always very welcoming with lovely friendly staff. Food and coffee excellent. We usually book for our group which is wise as the cafe is very busy. Nothing is a problem. No wonder it is popular!

In general an excellent family meal - a large group for Christmas lunch. Meal portions generous, well cooked and delicious. Service was obviously stretched as extremely busy and a couple of minor errors in what was ordered compared to what was delivered! Corrected promptly where needed. They do have a problem though in dealing with Bread Sauce! The exact same happened last year too… if it comes with bread sauce, that should happen automatically. It was offered and accepted but never came, so was chased. Then a minute ramekin appeared to be shared between 7! About half a teaspoon each. A further frugal mini portion came after the waitress realised a fruitless barrel scraping would result. Happily and without further prompting, the kitchen sent out a reasonable sized bowl fitting to 7 keen diners. Trouble is by this stage, most of us had pretty much finished our meal.

What a shame Called in for breakfast this morning me and my father in law both had the cedar breakfast the quality of the products were excellent but let down with being cold the plates were in fact that hot you could not touch them but unfortunately this does not mean the food is the same toast was stone cold and could be snapped what a shame.

We live over 100 miles away but this place is a regular haunt if we are ever in the vicinity. The food is always good and staff very pleasant, we follow them on facebook and it is a joy to see such a quality community minded busines thrive. We always take supplies from the butchers to stock up our freezer, the sausages are wonderful, as are the steak pies! It's also a great place to visit with children and our grandchild recently enjoyed his first visit and trip on the train. You could easily spend an afternoon here

I popped in on Friday to see if they had any bones at the butchers in the shop . The staff are so friendly and helpful and my dogs very happy . Bought some other products locally sourced produce which I loved ?

Visited as four adults for Sunday lunch, wheelchair friendly. Good choice of mains, we had lamb, beef and chicken - all of which were lovely. Crispy, large Yorkshire puddings and lots of seasonal veg. Choice of 3 desserts which were all nice, though best was the orange and lemon posset. Very helpful staff. A nice experience.

We, along with our 2 great friends, have today(November 12) had a fabulous Sunday lunch at Cedarbarn. We all agreed that it was the best we have had. Beautiful meat(2xPork and 2xBeef) cooked to perfection and accompanied by plentiful vegetables. Great friendly staff. What more can we say….top drawer! This place deserves all its accolades. We will definitely be back!! Thank you again. Ron and Nicole Ferguson

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch here. The roast beef and roast lamb were excellent and the vegetables were delicious and plentiful. The Yorkshire pudding was tasty and crisp and not greasy. Great mint sauce and horseradish. Staff carefully noted special requests such as ‘no gravy’ or ‘well done beef’. Lovely choice of starters and puddings- so nice to see imaginative puddings. The cheesecake was silky and light with a great chunky biscuit base- just how I like it. The accompanying coconut macaroon was also homemade and really delicious. Warm chocolate and walnut tart provided a much tastier and more original dessert than the chocolate dishes generally seen on menus. Portion sizes were generous and we were told we could have more vegetables if we wanted them. Warm, friendly staff and atmosphere and clearly many regulars. Prices were really good value for such high quality food. Best roast beef I’ve eaten in at least a decade! Thank you!

We were staying next door at High Oaks Grange and popped in here for the farm shop on our first day. It soon became a daily occurrence for their wonderful local produce, including fresh bread and their own home-made ready meals and a good variety of local beers, ciders and gins. The cafe has plenty of both inside and outside seating. The quality of the food is outstanding. We had the Kitchen Gardeners Breakfast (veggie) and the Lighter Breakfast (which was still a very good size and came with home-made pork sausage) - plus a Sally Lunn and the awesome Buttery Cinnamon Toast .... luckily they do take-out and gave us a box so we could take what we couldn't eat away with us!!! We enjoyed it all so much we made sure we had another breakfast there later on in the holiday. Be sure to check it out - you won't be disappointed.

Visited 3 times in September.Perfect every time.Breakfast is delicious with superb coffee. We also had Karls Ploughman's platter one day, again it was so tasty, lovely fresh ingredients. The shop and deli / Butchers is well worth a visit with some delicious treats. Recommend the homemade sausages.

Cycled here for lunch it was busy but was found a table straight away. Food was lovely. The menu prices on the website doesn’t match the prices in the cafe. Prices a bit expensive £37.00 for a quiche meal, steak pie meal, a pot of tea for two and 2 pieces of cake.

Amazing place full of fresh treats and daily staples. The fruit was delicious and superior to any I’ve bought from a supermarket. The breakfast was delicious too! The fresh flowers were locally picked and made an amazing gift. Lots to do here for all the family.

Came across this place entirely by accident. Great fresh food, a farm shop, beautiful flowers and fruit gardens to walk through after a feed. Lot's of parking. Little outdoor play area for the kids and if that wasn't enough, a field has been set aside for our dogs to stretch their legs. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Perfect place
