Everybody says sea breeze is the best in redcar but I disagree, Oliver's is much better and less greasy.

Please Sir! Can I have some more? ? Dined here yesterday (Sunday) and it definitely wasn't gruel! Staff were friendly and the service was excellent. Food was superb and plentiful. Fish cooked to perfection. Fabulous. We ordered a small cod to take out for our hound, which involved a member of staff going across the street to the take-out section. She did this with a smile and brought it to our table. Good old-fashioned excellent customer service. Thank you. Looking forward to returning 5*

Been to this takeaway today with my children and ordered for myself and my children. After paying for the orders, i was told by the cashier to wait outside with my children. I didn't think much of it straight away, but when we got outside, it was windy and freezing, and I realized we were the only people who were told to wait outside, and the premise was not overcrowded. and everyone else before and after us were waiting for their orders inside. I got back in with my children. We did not like the cashier's approach and the atmosphere it created.

I've been buying cod and a portion of onion rings from the takeaway for a while . Top notch - mostly . This time , the large cod was long but very skinny - not what I would call a large cod - and it was chewy at both ends . So chewy , in fact , that it was hard to cut a piece off . The onion rings , 12 (?) , less than 10 and a couple of them made from the 'skin' part of the onion . More unchewable ! Very disappointing . 15 mile round-trip I'll think twice about making in future .

Booked a Table for a Saturday Pre Christmas chippy lunch as a treat ! Every time we visit the area we just have to pop by Oliver's, either take-a-way eaten on the seafront, or proper sit in treat, fantastic chips, and lovely staff, always friendly and helpful ....our chippy of choice every time x

Oliver’s is a gem for fish and chips enthusiasts visiting Redcar, whether for takeaway or dine-in. Its friendly service and pristine cleanliness elevate the dining experience with its cozy seaside ambiance. Reasonable prices are complemented by prompt service, making this a perfect spot just off the promenade to unwind while relishing quality food and drinks. The generous portions of fish and chips were soft and sumptuous with a light and crispy batter. Oliver’s is highly recommended for a delightful meal and relaxation.

first time here, will not return. Nearly a fiver for cold chips, which we ate in the car so nothing to do with the weather being cold. Garlic is cheap and doesn’t taste nice at all.Wanted to come back and edit my review because I was woken up at 5am with the worst stomach cramps and then violently vomiting. If this is coincidental or not? I was fine before the food and feel much better now after throwing up.*as per your reply-*I was served old chips which were cold. I bought them then went straight into the car to eat them. They were cold.My sister who bought after me who was still in the shop had to wait for hers because yes hers were cooked fresh and he’s hers were hot. Accept your customers are not lying and take ownership. I have no reason to lie. Sadly for this reply I won’t return and he’s feeling much better since the food exited me :)

Visited Oliver’s restaurant today with my daughter. Welcoming staff and the restaurant has such a lovely decorative style and is immaculate. We both had the cod and chips special and the food was delicious, a lovely latte too. We will be visiting Oliver’s again on our next visit to Redcar.
