I came to Tan Hill for a meal. So i don't know how the bedrooms are. Staff is really nice and we had a delicious meal in here. The pub has such a nice environment. We had a sweet potato and kale pie and it was absolutely delicious. I do recommend a stop here. The surroundings are absolutely stunning.

Very busy, more so than expected being in middle of nowhere!!! Lots of walkers wirh dogs and cyclists, lots of camper vans stopping in lay-byes and parking area of inn. Very dog friendly. Rooms small but up to date and very clean with tea and coffee facilities included. Evening meals and breakfast very nice, good generous portions. Has bands/music on every Thurs, Fri and Sat night and very busy on these nights.Rooms: Very clean, good tea and coffee facilities. Modern decorWalkability: Lots of dogs and walkers. Lots of wslks in and around Tan Hill on north york moors.Food & drinks: Food very good, generous portions, good menu choices. Good pricing but very very busy needs to be booked in advance if possible.Noteworthy details: All staff very helpful and very friendly. Loved the place. Great place & history.Food poor. Had the soup & sandwich. V small soup, sandwich was cheese & onion ( out of a packet ) white tasteless bread. No salad, although it stated, or was 3 leaves on sandwich the salad ? ....Staff were nice but average age about 18 ! with little experience. They do live music nights which seems popular.

Nice place, but food expensive and shocking, microwave mash and cold garden peas absolutely a no no. For the money you want quality food.Sorry to leave a poor food review, but standards not as you would expect from a famous place, up the cost of food and employ a proper chef.
