I wasn't 100% sold on the idea but I am now that I've been.All cooked piping hot and fresh to an excellent standard in clean hot oil - it makes a difference.Chips were clean, no bad bits and nicely cooked. The fish was fresh tasting, white and in golden crispy batter.The restaurant is cosy but in a good was with an upstairs too. This is clean and well presented.The staff are good at what they do and welcoming on a chilly day with a smile and well mannered.All together I can only recommend this without hesitation.

Loved the fish and chips for the last 18 months since moving to Ripon but the last time 1 of 3 fish was cut near the back bone and really dry.Will go back again as they are usually lovely and let the owner know about my experience.

Ignore the negative reviews! The food here is amazing! We are new to the area and have eaten here twice, and genuinely its on a par with our favourite place in Middleham near Leyburn. Fish, chips, scampi, gravy, curry sauce - all tried and all delicious!

Portion sizes are always inconsistent. Have been charged for double cheeseburgers but only received singles. The chips are nice but the above points (which have happened a few times) mean I'll stop buying from here from now on. Also a high staff turnover rate, there always seems to be a new youngster learning how to take orders (perhaps where the errors come from)
