Winter visit to Staithes, came here for supper and had the steak pie!! Well, I saw the reviews so I thought it might be good but it was quite simply, the best steak pie I have ever had!! Great pie, gorgeous gravy to pour over the top and amazing chips!! Most steak pies are a pinged version of something made earlier, and this may well have been made earlier but the pastry wash crispy and the beef perfect!!! Well done guys!!!Food & drinks: Excellent!!

The room is very nice, clean & it has a good size bathroom. At this time of year, it's quiet but I like it. It's at the top of hill, but easy to get to the bus stop. It's a slow walk coming up from the harbour, but it's not that bad. Lovely for a few days gateaway.

The food here is amazing. Go in hungry, the portions are huge, the food comes out hot always, the staff are pleasant and cheery. 10 out of 10. The steak pie is big enough for two. And stuffed full of meat.

Very, very good, the beers ? were lovely. The large steak pie along with the peas, gravy and the chips? was amazing. Some of the people I was with did not think I would finish it, so when I did, I got a round of applause. It was a very enjoyable visit.

Gem of a place. Nice staff. Huge room. Comfy bed. Great ensuite. Loads of coffee, tea and biscuits in the room. Lovely décor. Great location near the lower part of the village Staithes and the upper part near the bus stop. Breakfast included in the price, which was filling and tasty, especially the sausages. I had a cooked breakfast but there was cereal also. They even had kippers! Lovely ladies serving us. Pot of tea or coffee as well.My only gripe is that I would have liked a food menu in my room with times on.Also do bear in mind you are sleeping above the bar, so naturally it may get loud, but that is expected. They put some hotels to shame. Thanks for a lovely stay.

A very good stay she made us welcome and informed us about our stay gave us a card for the code to our room the room was well equipped for what we needed especially the view looking over the bay. They welcomed us in the morning with agood breakfast - very nice which added to our

Avoid at all costs!! Filthy place, cream carpets stained, curtains hanging off the rail, paint peeling off the wall. An unadvertised party at the "inn", the music banging thay loud the bed was vibrating and the bedside lamps physically moving!! Went down to discuss this and was told it was a pub what did I expect. I left abruptly and complained to booking agent. Recieved an email regarding this saying the staff day I took all "complimentary" extras!! The shower gels were left on the sink untouched and the cups were even washed out after having 1 x cup of tea and 1 x cup of coffee. Expensive hot drink!! Not only do the staff not no how to clean they are liars too!! Wouldn't recommend anyone staying

Poor service. We had booked a table for Sunday lunch, which on arrival we were informed they had given to someone else. We waited two hours before getting our meals. Food was nice when it finally arrived.

We only stayed one night in this Hotel/Inn, we had been walking the Cleveland Way and the place is just up the hill.We were welcome by staff who showed us the the room, it was clean and well kept, this is an Inn rather than a posh hotel, we felt bit guilty as the carpet was cream, so boots came off, had we know boots of earlier. In the room, it was well stocked with teas, coffees, sugars, milks, kettle, mugs, biscuits, towels, soaps, etc.In the evening downstairs we had food and beer, the meals were hearty and beer nice all very reasonably priced.Breakfast was cooked and again pleasant. As said this is homely Hotel more Inn so more down to earth feel idea for walkingOwner and staff friendly.

Lovely Sunday dinner, my son said the chicken goujons were the best he's ever had. Chocolate cake was good as well. 75 pound for 5 people with drinks and desserts. Very good dealNearby activities: Little play ground visitors information centre and beach all close byFood & drinks: Food was good. Enjoyed the Sunday dinner and had good gluten free options

We called for food and a pintThe table and glassware were sticky to touch , staff didn't seem interested so we drank up and travelled up to the Ellerby Inn where we spent £120Felt like the place was going under and needed a good clean and friendly

Pub music was a little loud until 10 PM on a Mon, but the room was large and the breakfast was delicious.

Perfectly situated at top of the hill from the harbour. Ideal for rehydration and recovery? Loads of outdoor seating, great service. Definitely recommended ?
