Stop in here on a regular basis aflyer walking the fog on the beach and it’s got a nice atmosphere. Food is average but it’s a Greene King so standard pub chain fayre, and definitely not the worst I’ve had. We usually sit in the snug which is lovely and cozy, and has great views. The pub has a lovely outdoor area too in summer and it’s dog friendly

We went here for lunch on NYE. The staff were really busy but they were still very attentive to our table. Our food was hot and tasty from start to finish, we were not rushed either even though the pub was really busy. Even our dog got a dinner. The pub is very comfortable and friendly. Dogs are as welcome as people in all areas. They even have a doggy menu. We enjoyed so much we called back for a evening meal Tuesday. Once again food was good and my dog enjoyed another meal too. Thank you to all concerned at The Ship Inn.

Visited over the festive season for some food after a walk along the beach. The venue is great, the layout and decor are really something special. Unfortunately the food just didn’t meet the same standards. We were told food orders had around an hours wait, which we were ok with, however what arrived was a little disappointing. Pretty average food, tacos had the smallest amount of filling and were only luke warm, had really hoped for better. I would definitely visit again for drinks, unsure if I would be trying the food again.

Another Greene King triumph. Wonderful welcome from Kate the landlady and backed up by her polite and friendly staff. The food we had was top quality and we found the atmosphere conducive to traditional drinkers and families alike. I also love the idea of the location of lashing seas outside whilst we are inside warm and content.

If you don't mind very basic food on a cold plate and a long wait to receive it, then you probably won't mind the Ship. If you were a frequent visitor to the Ship before it changed hands, then expect to be disappointed.

Been here many times and thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife can not eat anything with gluten and been impressed by the options on the menu, however, under new management the GF menu is an insult to anyone with an GF issue. Greene King have obviously spent a lot of money refurbishing this pub but are obviously only interested in serving meals to people without food intolerance to maximise their profit. Like the turkey they can get stuffed. We will not be back.

Went for Sunday lunch with friends as this was a midway meeting point. Staff were friendly but the Sunday lunch was disappointing. Pre booked the table for four and I had Roast beef with the trimmings. The plate was cold, beef was tough and the veg very under cooked. Had we not been with friends who we have not seen for a while I would have complained. I could not eat all of the meal but made an effort so not to create a problem, we did not order any desserts just tea and coffee after. No easy way to complain when with friends but felt this need to be highlighted for future bookings.

I have used this pub for over 50 years. It was my local when I lived in Saltburn. My friends and I have been looking for a place that sells pink roast beef for Sunday lunch in the local area. When I visited the pub it advertised roast sirloin of beef served pink. I was going to book a table for ten at a later date, but thought it prudent to check it out first. So I booked a table for one and went there on Sunday the 26th November. I ordered the beef and a large glass of Rioja. I waited 30 to get served. When the food eventually arrived it was cold. The beef was not pink, but it was sirloin. I sent it back. The wine was expensive at nearly £8 a glass. I would not recommend this Sunday lunch to anybody.

Fantastic Greene King property, million miles apart from the Hoop and Toy in Kensington. Contrast could not be more different. The staff here very welcoming, polite and friendly. Spotlessly clean, comfortable. Reliable bus service with a stop outside for coastal exploration.

Used to love this pub, the food was always amazing and great value. Went in for the first time since it's been taken over by a chain and although the pub has had a nice makeover, the food was very disappointing. No table service any more so ordered on the app because the queue at the bar was ridiculous. Wasn't told there was a wait on food, it took nearly an hour to come. The food was fine but incomparable to the lovely homemade meals you used to get. I don't think we'll be back.

Went to Saltburn for fish and chips but the weather wasn’t good to sit outside and eat from one of the seafront chip shop. We thought the Ship was a local pub but only until we were sat down did I realise it was a chain. My fears were realised small portion of fish and chips very very average, more batter than fish and very slow service. Wish we had taken the chance with the weather and bought a much cheaper, bigger portion and tastier meal. The place itself is nice inside and with its location and lack of competition will do ok.

Great pub and place to shelter from the weather, stopped for lunch and had the Katsu curry which was lovely also had the tacos for starters which were nice, lovely pint of Guinness, they allow dogs in the bar and there’s a nice log burner to dry off to
