The pub itself is really old and one would say 'no frills' but it's friendly and the carvery was nice. All the food seemed home cooked, like the Yorkshires, stuffing and gravy.We didn't know that they serve the food upstairs, so just take note if you have mobility problems. But it's not a problem and I'm sure the staff would be willing to help.Give it a try, places like this need the custom.
My wife and I went here on Thursday to try one of the recommended parmesans. It was fabulous but I am glad that we both went for the half portion. It was enormous and incredibly filling. Could not have managed the full size version. Great value meal at £24 for 2 with drinks. Pub looks a bit run down but the friendliness of the staff and the food more than make up for the appearance. Give it a try.

It is one of those off the beaten track pubs. But definitely worth a visit. Plenty of choice of ales and lagers. The menu is enticing, we'll have to visit several times to sample all their stuff.Someone has to do it ?
