Today for a treat I took my wife out for lunch at her favourite Scarborough Cafe. We both ordered and I saw mine ready sat on top of the serving counter under a heat lamp. There it remained for a further 10 minutes until my wife’s meal was ready and we were both served together. My dinner had dried out due to the wait, it was very busy so I decided not to return the meal as the wait for a replacement would be too long. Whilst my wife fully enjoyed her lunch mine was spoilt due to it standing for so long prior to serving. I did point this out to the waitress who chose to ignore me.

£31 for awful meal for 2 main courses. Soggy fish and chip shop chips served with a burger, same 'chip shop soggy' chips served with other meals. Absolutely no finesse whatsoever with presentation. Large 'splat' of mushy peas on the plate, cheap tasting ready made tartare sauce. Tartare sauce is one of the easiest sauces to make, why serve ready made rubbish in a restaurant.

My wife, myself, and our little cockapoo, decided to give this restaurant a try. We wanted something different to fish and chips on the harbour side. What a very nice eating experience we had. A lovely vibrant atmosphere, with some superb dishes on offer. We could see what other people had ordered, and they all looked delicious. My wife chose a sandwich dish with extra chips, and I had a small chowder in a bread cob loaf. What a lovely flavour it was, a superb chowder, and you can eat the container. Best chowder ever. Also, of its good enough for Susan Calman it's good enough for me. It was delicious. Restaurant is up several sets of stairs, and may be a challenge for less able people. But if you can it's worth it! We just walked in, albeit there were a few reserved tables, so my advice would be; go early or reserve your table. Super place, we will be back!

It was recommended to me and we went in for the chowder and it did not disappoint. I could have eaten bowls of it. The food was so good we went back 2 days later. If you are in Scarborough then it is not to be missed

Absolutely fabulous café with great coffee and food. With a mix of people it truly is a fabulous place to visit. The lookout breakfast is big.

Called for lunch on the off-chance there was space and were lucky to be squeezed in. Recommend booking as it is well-worth a visit. We’ve been for brunch before with friends and that was great too. This time I struggled to choose from the menu as everything sounded so great. Decided on langoustine with a glass of white wine. It’s rare I get to enjoy quality seafood as my husband is vegetarian, but the menu has enough options to keep him happy too. I love it here, the young staff are friendly, the views are great, the diners are chilled. Everyone was photographing their food it looked so good! I will definitely be making a habit of visiting regularly so can worth through the menu. Chowder in sourdough bread bowl next time. Get yourself to Scarborough. Lovely.

When today for fish and chips looking forward to my lunch as we have not been here since Covid but was disappointed with the quality of the food More batter then fish hard chips cold peas no bread when asked the server she said she would bring it but after a while I had to go and ask for it again dirty milk jug which I had to change Will not be going back again You can get better fish and chips from the sea side chip shops then up there So don’t bother wasting your money

Great location on the harbour pier, looking back to Scarborough from the water is even better at sundown.Fish and chips is a pretty standard offering. Better can be found on the front. The menu promises a great selection of fish. They all sound very palatable from salt and pepper squid to lobster all served very decoratively. The atmosphere is made by the view but that shouldn't take away from the above average decor and fittings.A fully stocked bar offers almost every liqueur for every taste.Service is very friendly and attentive.Wheelchair accessibility: Access is by stairs only.I wouldn't recommend trying to get up there as getting out in an emergency could be extremely hazardous.

The Lookout on the Pier has become our go to for breakfast when we head to the Coast. For us it ticks every box, kind welcoming staff where nothing is too much trouble, a great menu choice which is priced fairly, the food is always delicious with good sized portions, it also has a nice atmosphere with lovely views. I’d highly recommend booking in advance, especially if the weather is nice as it can get very busy but it’s worth the wait! I’m looking forward to coming across one evening as the seafood is meant to be even better!

What a find!! How is this place not No1 in Scarborough really?? We booked for Bistro night on Saturday 2nd September. Having called in for a drink earlier in the day and were lucky enough to get the last table for the 4 of us. Honestly the food is amazing we had the mushroom starter, squid starters and olives.Squid cooked to perfection with a lovely harissa mayo to accompany it. All lovely but what a main event! Mains were 1. Seafood chowder, 2. Langoustines, 3.Seabass. 4. Fish and chips. Quality and quantity were amazing for me personally the stand out dish was the chowder. You have got to try this place it’s the best seafood we’ve had outside of Greece, no tell a lie it’s the best seafood we’ve ever had and we eat a lot of seafood. Prices great, service fantastic and all the seafood sourced from the pier just below Epic 15out of 10 Visit before it gets too busy with demand

What a find!. Heard about it years ago and were in Scarborough earlier than usual. So thought we'd try for breakfast, luckily there was a table free on the balcony overlooking the harbour. We had two full English for £20, hot and delicious. Looking forward to returning.

You have the option to eat inside or on limited table numbers outside overlooking the harbour,we opted to eat outside but the weather changed and by the skin of our teeth managed to change to a table inside,it’s not a big space and was very busy so maybe it’s best to book in advance. To get to the restaurant there are a few steps to climb, staff were very nice and the atmosphere very relaxed and friendly. The menu is mainly fish but steak and burgers are also on the menu and there is also a breakfast menu, I had the tapas …the medley of fish in butter and dill and white bait with tartar sauce, both very nice and a portion of chips,my husband had oysters followed by the mussels he really enjoyed them but wished he had ordered extra bread to mop up the delicious sauce.we both had a drink and the bill was around 56.00,I think we will definitely visit again when we are in Scarborough.
