We are very lucky in Scarborough to have loads of good Indian restaurants. But Royal Tandoori has the edge in my opinion. Dining in the food and service are faultless.Takeaway delivery is always within the promised time and arrives nice and hot.

Definitely worth a visit we took advantage of the half price deal they do on a Sunday and was not a disappointment. Staff were friendly and helpful atmosphere was great.We ordered a selection of starters, mains and sides to be eaten at the same time which was no problem. Everything was delivered to the table together all hot. They do only take cash not sure of this is only when it's half price but there is a cashpoint just round the corner.All in all a very pleasant evening

We had a booking confirmed days in advance for 9 people but on arrival was given a table for 6 (with one extra chair). It was implied the table next to us would be finishing soon and we would then have their table then, even though they were still eating mains with half a bottle of wine left to drink. They took half of our drinks order and then walked away. I felt judged for ordering a bottle of wine rather than a glass, they refused to give us a jug of water and questioned why we wanted tap water alongside soft drinks. Staff were rude and made us feel unwelcome. They pressured us to order poppadoms even though two people in the group were standing without chairs. When we told the waiter we wanted to wait to order until we were comfortable he laughed at us. After half an hour, when the table next to us had still not been given the bill and our drinks had not come yet we decided to leave and go to Scarborough Tandoori (highly recommend). When we told them we were leaving they said ‘okay’ with no apology. We have since been made aware of their one star food hygiene rating.

Was one of the only places open when I went out for dinner, so I was ready for anything - but actually they more than exceeded my expectations with a really delicious meal. Great service, great meal. Slightly more expensive than I'd planned for but I honestly didn't mind much.Vegetarian options: I had sides but it looked like they did good vegetarian options and I would trust them to do it.

Really enjoyed our food. Served quickly, staff polite, premises seemed clean HOWEVER bit horrified to notice from another review that they have only 2star hygiene rating (checked and it's true) this I think needs working on.

The delivery driver was very rude, giving my partner abuse and being racist. Rang tried to say our order was outside, but he was at the bottom end of the street and refused to drive up the street to our front door. When my partner explained that he was at the bottom of the street and she wasn't walking down to him as it was midnight and she was in her pyjamas, he said "I'm not your chauffeur” and started tugging on his jacket, saying “You English people should know better”. I am appalled with his attitude, which definitely is not of the customer service nature expected of a delivery driver. I immediately called to complain after my partner told me about this, but they refused to answer.
Takeaway received Sunday 17th September was absolutely disgusting ,ordered prawn and chicken curry or which both completely tasteless like water and a total waste of money, £33 was spent .FOODRATINGS are 2 out of 5 stars which is appalling, we weren’t aware of this until after doing research after the mediocre food was received . AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

I'll start with the food. The starter 'Mirch Chicken Tikka' was one of the best I've had in a very long time, just perfect. So good I went to their website just to make sure I got the name right. I had many dishes before with essentially the same ingredients, but somehow they made it something special. The main course was also very good, had a nice cucumber raita with it. The staff were very friendly and asked if I wanted to wait between the starter and main course, which was unexpected, after my brief surprise I said yes and he just said "let me know when you're ready for the main". I can't remember the last time that happened at an Indian restaurant (probably at one of the greats in Glasgow or Manchester). A very unexpected treat - oh and by the way, much better than Scarborough Tandoori, which I ate at the previous night and also left a review :)

In short, This restaurant was absolutely amazing. Greeted as we walked in and sat down, popadoms came within a couple of minutes, drinks straight away too. The service here was amazing, all the staff were so so nice and we both felt like royalty! The curry only took around 10-15 minutes (on a Saturday night too) and the taste… wow! Easily the best curry I’ve ever had from an indian restaurant. Will definitely come back and I couldn’t recommend a restaurant more, thank you so much for a great birthday meal guys! All the best :)
