Excellent, friendly pub, fairly priced great quality food, well kept and good range of beers all washed down with fine service. Even enjoyed some Friday night vocal talent, brilliant atmosphere. Worth booking ahead, I couldn’t get a table the next night!

Ate here one midweek night. Good choice of beers and the two I had were lovely. The food was excellent. I had the game pie which was delicious and my wife enjoyed her burger. Tried to eat there again at the weekend but it was fully booked so do book a table if you want to eat here at weekends.

Cosy pub with good food, really enjoyed the cod mornay and cajun chicken. Worth booking a table as can be busy.

Make sure you book a table as this place is popular with locals and visitors alike. Food was outstanding and at a very fair price. Even better there was a mini beer festival on. Places like this make you want to return to a location for seconds………very soon.

We had a lovely dinner at The Talbot arms today, Sunday lunch was sold out (so get there before 3 pm for this)But I had beef chilli enchiladas with chips and salad and my Sister had Gammon Steak with chips and seasonal veg.The service by all of the staff was excellent, and they tended to our every needs. The food was cooked to perfection, beautifully presented and piping hot, it was absolutely delicious, and fairly priced. We both had desert, Sister had bread and butter pudding with ice cream, and I had cheesecake with ice cream and they were very special indeed!I can thoroughly recommend The Talbot arms and will definitely attend again in the future.Excellent

Lovely treat after a long Sunday walk in the Dales. Dog friendly, welcoming staff, good selection of ales, reasonably priced and delicious food!

In Settle for a weeks walking holiday and went to The Talbot Arms as a result of reading reviews on this site. Went twice, which is a good enough recommendation. I had the Gammon both times and must say it was the best bit of Gammon in a long time, along with the usual sides, but with Pineapple Chutney which made a pleasant change. My wife had the Cod/Prawn Mornay on the first night which was excellent, but the Hunters Chicken on the second visit was rather dry and warranted only a 4/10. Excellent range of local ales, and very efficient, friendly staff made for two good nights out. The prices were also a lot better tha the other local Inns.

Reserved the day before by going there. It looked very nice and the reservation was welcomed. We were with a party of four. Family. The food was well prepared. Tasted very very good. We had garlic bread to share. Ordered the venison burger, fish pot, curry with papadum and steak and ale with puff pastry. We finished with local ice and a piece of pie and cream. How good this all tasted! Unbelievable. The service is awesome. Pricing decent. Place was packed. And for a reason! Very, very good food. Amazing experience in this great pub.

We had a long-awaited gathering with some of our family. We were 3 generations and the pub did us proud. There is a spacious beer garden with enough space between the tables to allow privacy. Good choice of menu and happy service. Food was well cooked and nicely presented. When the milk for coffees turned out to be sour, it was replaced no questions asked. Inside, the tables were spaced to allow privacy. Clean toilets. Would recommend and will definitely return.

A group of 4 of us ambled in on a Sunday lunchtime and were very fortunate to get a table as it’s clearly a popular place! We ordered the ribeye steak with peppercorn sauce, wholetail scampi and chips, spicy chilli beef enchiladas and the cod, prawn and spinach mornay. All the dishes came in good portions and tasted great. Every staff member we interacted with was super friendly, efficient and seemed happy to be working there. Can’t fault anything! We’d definitely come back if we found ourselves in the area again.

Great 'traditional' pub. No frills, no fancy dishes and inflated prices, just down-to-earth goodness. Staff really friendly & helpful. Great beer garden at the back too, Highly recommended for families, walkers and dogs ?

The food was ok, service was great but the interior and beer garden seem to let the place down.

Best pub food I’ve had in a long time. Great choice of ales. Really nice beer garden. Went with my young children, who loved the food.
