The Knights Table
Little Stainforth, SettleHad a fabulous meal last night celebrating a 70th birthday. Food was superb - a few of us had the sweet potato korma curry and all said it was delicious. Everyone followed their main course with a desert, of which we all eyed enviously other's choices. Can definitely recommend the salted caramel sundae with millionaire shortbread, although the cheesecake is on my shortlist for next time.
The staff were great (as always), attentive and helpful with special mention given to Hannah and Charlie who had to cope with our large party which included a 2 year old & 2 well behaved dogs.
The location is excellent with superb views across the dales so if any walkers are looking for a place to refresh with excellent food and drink then The knights table is a must.

The Black Horse Inn
32 Church St, Giggleswick, SettleWe had a meal with family here. The bar was very busy early on a Friday evening, which gave a good atmosphere. Our table was booked in the restaurant which is small & and sits around twenty diners.
Everyone enjoyed their meal, the majority having the fish & chips. The haddock was a huge portion with crispy batter. I had the Cajun haddock fillet, which was cooked perfectly. It was served on a bed of cabbage with potato & asparagus. The drinks are reasonably priced & with a good choice of craft ales & cider. The service was excellent as well. Highly recommend.

The Traddock
Austwick, SettleWe stayed at the Traddock on Wednesday 18th September 2024. Both the hotel and staff were excellent, the room was clean and well presented with an extremely comfortable bed. The hotel is situated in a beautiful quiet village within the scenic Yorkshire Dales.
We dined at the Traddock choosing from the brasserie menu. The food was… exceptional! My partner had the Pork Belly with plum, spring onion and fenugreek as a starter whilst I had the Chicken Liver Parfait with beetroot and ginger chutney with a chicken fat brioche. The starters were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious.
The main course followed and we chose the chicken and monkfish. It was divine. Perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Dessert was the Chocolate Cremeux and the Raspberry Parfait. Delicious! The food was excellent value for money especially when considering the high standard and beautiful presentation. Breakfast the next day was equally as good.
This was our first visit and we enjoyed ourselves so much that we’ll be returning soon, but next time to try the Taster Menu which I suspect will be next level. Highly recommended.
Food and drinks: Excellent and good value

The Folly Coffee House & Licenced Cafe
Victoria St, SettleEnjoyed the best vegan afternoon tea we've had since moving to the Dales. We called on the off chance they could fit us in (despite it not being 24hrs notice) and were delighted to get a booking.
Heather couldn't do enough for us from service through to some recipe ideas. Such a helpful lady despite being really busy. The vegan cheese/chive scones are so light and tasty. The sandwich fillings were varied and the cakes home-made and absolutely delicious.
The Folly is a beautiful, historical building and has a relaxed atmosphere. Great place to meet for a coffee. Well worth a stop off on the Settle - Carlisle line. We will certainly return for another take-away of the savoury scones - great baking skills Freida! ?
Dietary restrictions: All vegan afternoon tea

Little House Restaurant
17 Duke St, SettleDelightful! We have wanted to dine at the Little House Restaurant for a long time but unfortunately our previous visits to the area have been mid week when they are closed. This time we travelled later so managed to get a table on the Saturday night. It was definitely worth waiting for! Upon entering we were warmly greeted, seated, given water & menus by Andrew, the owner who straight away makes you feel like an old friend. Situated in a lovely building with only a small number of covers, it exudes a wery nice, friendly, comfortable atmopshere with some nice, low key jazz playing quietly in the background. Drinks order taken whilst we perused the menu. Charcuterie platter of cured meats & parmesan & garlic King Prawns 'piri-piri' chosen to start followed by baked fillet of silver hake with lentil & vegetable cassoulet & pan fried fillet of Ribble Valley beef with a cracked black pepper, cognac & cream sauce along with a very nice bottle of red wine. A wonderful dessert named Yorkshire Mess consisting of rhubarb, meringue & all the associated creamy bits was shared as was a glass of delightful dessert wine. The timings between courses were perfect. The chef came out & we had a lovey chat with her during which we discovered a slight connection to our home town of Beverley. All in all, an extremely enjoyable, unrushed evening with great friendly service, a relaxed atmosphere & most of all, delicious food! We noticed that a lot of the diners appeared to be regulars with several making bookings for future dates which is alays a good sign of a decent restaurant.Highly recommended.**We travel to Greece quite a lot & noticed that on the first weekend of the month, The Little House present a menu influenced by different countries. The next one is a Greek evening & even though we live a couple of hours away, we have booked a table for this as the menu looked very inviting!

Unit 9/Commercial Yard/Duke St, SettleWe got accommodated without booking on a Saturday night, which was great. The food has been delicious and flavoursome every time we've been here. The special naan was probably not worth it compared to garlic one but never the less the whole meal was worth it.Lovely music, polite waiters. You can bring your own alcohol

Delicious Cafe
Limestone View, SettleWe ate early on a Saturday evening and we were lucky to get a table. The food is excellent and feels like it has been cooked with a little love. The mutton in the curry was superb. Side dishes are plentiful and varied. My wife had a Chicken Shashlik which she said was superb. Definitely will go again when next in Settle.

Matteo's Settle Italian Restaurant
5, The Shambles, SettleA quirky place with an equally quirky chef, waiter, general everyman which is fabulous. Friendly and the food is first class. It's different as it's literally run by one man you might have to wait for your drinks, but get it's the whole experience and we really enjoyed eating and chatting to our host. Not to be missed.
