The Traddock
Austwick, SettleThis was our third stay at the Traddock on the way home from Scotland.: the first visit was on recommendation from friends. Austwick is a pretty village in Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Traddock is a beautiful country house in the middle of the village. The rooms are beautifully furnished and so comfortable and the public areas are spacious and sumptuous. The service was exceptional from check in to check out. The dinner was delicious with a great choice of wines. Breakfast was also fantastic. The whole experience was faultless.

The Knights Table
Little Stainforth, SettleWe had a fabulous meal here last night - we all had 3 courses and each one was exemplary in both taste and presentation. The service was outstanding by the two young ladies who served us- they were both super friendly, efficient and helpful and made us (and others around us) feel very welcome. We will definitely return!

Little House Restaurant
17 Duke St, SettleWe have often seen this restaurant on our occasional visits to Settle. We made the effort and booked and so glad we did. Beautiful simply cooked food with no pretentious style or ingredients just tasty dishes that I would say is bistro style. We both had sardines to start that were cooked beautifully with lemon and olive oil followed by lamb that was cooked to perfection with gorgeous sauce and the tiny roasties were perfect. Pancakes with blueberries etc for me and a gorgeous looking rhubarb mess for him that finished a lovely meal. We will be back.

High St, SettleWe had a lovely dinner at The Talbot arms today, Sunday lunch was sold out (so get there before 3 pm for this)But I had beef chilli enchiladas with chips and salad and my Sister had Gammon Steak with chips and seasonal veg.The service by all of the staff was excellent, and they tended to our every needs. The food was cooked to perfection, beautifully presented and piping hot, it was absolutely delicious, and fairly priced. We both had desert, Sister had bread and butter pudding with ice cream, and I had cheesecake with ice cream and they were very special indeed!I can thoroughly recommend The Talbot arms and will definitely attend again in the future.Excellent

Ruchee Restaurant
Unit 9/Commercial Yard/Duke St, SettleCame here for our evening meal. We hadn't booked a table, but luckily we're able to be seated prior to a later booking as they were fully booked. So I'd advise to book. Although when entering, there was nobody in there at all. Seems like most book for around 7pm onwards as it did get busy.Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was really good. Some of the best onion bhajis we've had.Wasn't overly expensive either. Definitely recommend.Parking: There's a pay and display (9am-6pm) car park pretty much next to the building. With plenty of parking at the point of visiting anyway (Saturday evening). The car park is free after 6pm.

The mutton in the curry was superb. Side dishes are plentiful and varied. My wife had a Chicken Shashlik which she said was superb. Definitely will go again when next in Settle.

Bar 13
13 Duke St, SettleCracking micro-bar between the railway station and the town centre. Three cask ales on - I plumped for Moorhouses Moonbeam - a classic IPA - went down far too quickly. Great service from the bar staff - I was given a chilled pint of water having walked 10 miles to get here. Much obliged ??

The Fisherman
16 Church St, SettleSo I'm living temporarily in Settle and was fortunate to find this place. As I told the server, I was brought up on the seaside and this fish and chips is the best I have tried. Not greasy at all and fresh tasting. Not cheap but not expensive either. Very friendly people also. If you like fish and chips you will love this place. A reason you often find people queuing outside in the rain to get it.

Matteo's Settle Italian Restaurant
5, The Shambles, SettleThis place is definitely a one of a kind. We came here during our visit to settle, and this place alone will certainly make us come back to the town centre. It's among the best Italian food we've had (which is a lot). The king prawns starter had us shutting our eyes to savour it, because it were absolutely divine. The carbona that I had was faultless, the sauce was a little runnier than I'm used to, but it was still thick enough and very tasty. My partner's meatballs were devoured very quickly - the were amazing too, especially the sauce. The pasta on both dishes was cooked perfectly. Lovely fresh bread served with the starter and a main. The only small thing we have to say is that the meatballs were quite salty, however the very nice sauce made the salt a nice level. The thing I find the most amazing, is that it was one man doing everything on his own - literally. The cooking, the waiting, the phone, everything. Kudos to him!! I'm absolutely amazed, and he was very friendly and on the ball with everything. Very inspiring. The atmosphere was very genuine Italian. It was in a stone basement style room, very intimate. Very unique. Proper Italian music and lovely warm lighting, it was very relaxing.I can't wait to visit again.

Ye Olde Naked Man Café
2 Market Pl, SettleStopped here for a late lunch today. It was still busy but we were seated with no delay. The slight downside was that we were sitting right next to the door so it wasn't as comfortable as it could have been with a cold draught coming through every time it opened. The food was really good, very hot and fully loaded jacket potatoes, and freshly made sandwiches. Despite being told there was no coleslaw left, it still appeared on the plates and we were also told the jacket potato special was all gone, so we reordered, only to be told that actually it was available after all. Minor quibbles really as the food was served quickly and was delicious.

Royal Oak Hotel
Market Pl, SettleService was good, the staff very pleasant and helpful. The food was great, Ribblehead Bitter was a nice pint. It made a pleasant change to have rock music as the background instead of the usual dross. I enjoyed my visit and will return when next in the area.
