The Traddock
Austwick, SettleWe enjoyed a one night stay at the Traddock in room 6, which has an en suite with a bath and a lovely view over the garden. Our small dog Millie stayed with us and enjoyed her stay too (small £10 supplement for dog).The service was excellent, particularly the lovely lady on reception at check in and check out. The bar is very cosy with lots of small cosy rooms/snugs to relax in as well as some board games you can play! We didn’t eat in the restaurant in the evening but enjoyed the breakfast - with plenty veggie options. Would highly recommend a stay here!

Little Stainforth, SettleWe came for lunch after a long wet walk in the dales with our small dog (it is dog friendly). Very good menu at reasonable prices, lovely service and a spacious, modern bar/restaurant.

The cafe has a nice, classic feel and really friendly service, a good selection of meals and being dog friendly was perfect for us. Will happily go again and might have to try their cakes...

Home Barn, Feizor, LancasterGreat spot Quite busy but relaxed. Friendly service with good choice. Enjoyed nut roast with Yorkshire pud (as did family, goat cheese toasties and cheese and roast beef). Easy to tie in circular walks.

Victoria St, SettleStopped for a quick loo break but obviously bought coffee and cake. Sadly the museum was shut but the building is so lovely to sit in and a lot of history to it.Hubby said the jewelled fruit cake was delicious

17 Duke St, SettleDelightful!We have wanted to dine at the Little House Restaurant for a long time but unfortunately our previous visits to the area have been mid week when they are closed. This time we travelled later so managed to get a table on the Saturday night. It was definitely worth waiting for! Upon entering we were warmly greeted, seated, given water & menus by Andrew, the owner who straight away makes you feel like an old friend. Situated in a lovely building with only a small number of covers, it exudes a wery nice, friendly, comfortable atmopshere with some nice, low key jazz playing quietly in the background. Drinks order taken whilst we perused the menu. Charcuterie platter of cured meats & parmesan & garlic King Prawns 'piri-piri' chosen to start followed by baked fillet of silver hake with lentil & vegetable cassoulet & pan fried fillet of Ribble Valley beef with a cracked black pepper, cognac & cream sauce along with a very nice bottle of red wine. A wonderful dessert named Yorkshire Mess consisting of rhubarb, meringue & all the associated creamy bits was shared as was a glass of delightful dessert wine. The timings between courses were perfect. The chef came out & we had a lovey chat with her during which we discovered a slight connection to our home town of Beverley. All in all, an extremely enjoyable, unrushed evening with great friendly service, a relaxed atmosphere & most of all, delicious food! We noticed that a lot of the diners appeared to be regulars with several making bookings for future dates which is alays a good sign of a decent restaurant.Highly recommended.**We travel to Greece quite a lot & noticed that on the first weekend of the month, The Little House present a menu influenced by different countries. The next one is a Greek evening & even though we live a couple of hours away, we have booked a table for this as the menu looked very inviting!

Delicious Cafe
Limestone View, SettleWe ate early on a Saturday evening and we were lucky to get a table. The food is excellent and feels like it has been cooked with a little love. The mutton in the curry was superb. Side dishes are plentiful and varied. My wife had a Chicken Shashlik which she said was superb. Definitely will go again when next in Settle.

The food was great, professional staff great atmosphere and as a consequence we are now regular visitors where we enjoy the friendly and attentive staff, where nothing is a trouble to please . The staff go the extra mile to accommodatepeoples requests.

The Fisherman
16 Church St, SettleWent here today and really enjoyed the food. The fish was thick, white and flaky, the chips were very nice with no grease whatsoever. The mushy peas were as good as I've had anywhere else.The wait for the food was over 30 minutes but acceptable as a new girl was being trained. The staff were very polite and friendly. Would I go again? Yes of course I would. We had two very tasty meals,both filling,well cooked and good value for money.

BD24, Market Pl, SettleCalled here after I did a walk in the Yorkshire Dales and these fish and chips are really nice.They cook them fresh to order but I wasn't waiting long.I sat on a bench outside in the sunshine which is a perfect way to enjoy them,highly recommended !

2 Market Pl, SettleThe staff were nice and very helpful, the food was basically all home cooked. The pies and fresh bread were very good. The roast beef and Yorkshire puddings and gravy looked really good. I wish I had had more time to sample more if what was on offer.

Royal Oak Hotel
Market Pl, SettleService was good, the staff very pleasant and helpful. The food was great, Ribblehead Bitter was a nice pint. It made a pleasant change to have rock music as the background instead of the usual dross. I enjoyed my visit and will return when next in the area.
