Has to have been the WORST coffee I have ever had in my life! Greeted by a very welcoming pleasant young girl who also took our order. Ordered two lattes and a light breakfast each. My expectation of my very poor latte was met after I heard the horrendous screech and noise coming from the steamer for the milk as it was burnt to within a micron of its life! After 10 mins still couldn’t drink as it was still far to hot. I had a couple of sips and had to leave it. Went to pay and the polite young girl asked if everything was ok. I had to say (discreetly) I was not happy with the coffees. She then brought over the lady who made the drinks. I asked if she had any barista training? She said ‘a little’ I constructively and discreetly mentioned that maybe she should seek suitable training, to which the owner/chef came over to challenge my disappointment!! ‘We make over 50,000 coffees a year’ he says! Then accused me of complaining to he two members of staff and challenged my opinion on the sub standard coffee! Tried to yet again explain but was having none of it. I could feel his tension and anger towards me! Extremely rude with no customer service whatsoever or acceptance of my view! A bad example to show towards the other two members of staff… embarrassing! This place is lucky it’s on the main road connecting the Yorkshire dales to the lakes. Obviously not bothered in raising the bar for improvements due to the unsuspecting traveling customer. We will obviously never return !

I will try to keep this brief… Latte is the worst I have had ! Ever! To be fair we were greeted by a lovely girl, very pleasant and polite but that’s where it ends.. After raising a constructive criticism towards the lattes we received, the owner/chef launched his very rude opinion on my view of very sub standard coffee! This place relies on the passing motorist, traveling between the dales and the lakes, as what looks to be a potentially nice place to take a break. This man does not care one jot if you have not received satisfaction as he knows there will be many more people passing to keep this joker in business ??

Stopped here 12.25 pm today 12 Sep hoping for lunch needed loo urgently but after experiencing it decided against stopping nor could we as brasserie was only open for pre bookings despite roadside Open signs. Takeaway not available as “staff too busy” but the rim of the toilet had clearly not been cleaned in a long time. covid may have peaked but basic hygiene is obviously not a priority no return for us. But thanks for the loo anyway if I’d known about Settle being so near with much more choice I wouldn’t have stopped anyway.

Stopped for a coffee and cake... Very nice spot, though take a way only as we visited just as they were closing... Will need to visit earlier...

The owner needs to take a long look at this place with fresh eyes. So many basics don't work : cafe/courtyard/brasserie confusing with no service in the Courtyard itself. Its unclear if cafe and brasserie are the same . Staff seemed confused about outside servi e, several people walked away while we were there as couldnt understand where to go . The "Any drink and sandwich in this fridge £5.50" offer needed removing or updating (the fridge contained a few drinks, lots of 2 litre milk cartons and a huge bag of carrots!). All details ( there are more) which, if addressed, could make it better and a good stop-off on the A65. Menu looked nice but not sure about delivery. Road noise in outside courtyard could be annoying.

At about 2.15pm last Sunday, my wife and I called in for lunch. The car park was nearly empty. On our way to the brassiere we saw a sign saying ‘please be patient we are understaffed’. We went upstairs and waited at the sign ‘wait here to be seated’. We never got passed that sign board. Whilst waiting there were four young members of staff stood nearby they were talking amongst themselves. Not one of them said hello or even acknowledged our presence - in fact a young lady walked past us still without acknowledging our presence and went downstairs. After waiting for several more minutes we decided we were probably invisible to them and decided to leave. The whole experience was surreal, we won’t try that place again.

The service was poor, late for the order to be taken and food to arrive. Taken to the corner of the room with bad lighting for our seat when there was plenty of other better seating available. The menu is quite small and expensive for what you get. They do have a daily specials menu, only found out after we had ordered and not by the staff either. Overall poor place and poor experience I would avoid, I would not go back or recommend.

Disappointed with service, was placed on a table facing the corner, wasn't informed of the special menu and prices were on the steep side. On top of stairs there was a sign saying tables are fully booked but there was plenty of space available when walking up to The Brasserie.

3 OAP s went for coffee which was fine but we also ordered 2 toasted teacakes which looked more like scones with 2/3 currants in them also ordered french toast with bacon when come out bread was floppy and looked if it had sat in oil all day with hardly cooked bacon we sent this back only to be handed back with horrible extra fried bacon when we complained we were told they had been very busy only us in. The three young girls thought it was highly amusing we complained. Didn't get anywhere so asked for manager's name and telephone number have rang him no end of times no reply. The food is expensive enough without this type of behaviour but u r only as good as you are taught I'll say no more

Nice enough, a little expensive for the food on offer. I had pea and ham soup which was a bit watery and no chunks of ham in it - it was very 'blended'Maybe I've been spoilt by my Dad who made awesome pea and ham soup!

Enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea and so pleased that our dog was made welcome too. The sandwiches cakes and lovely scones jam and cream were ample and we couldn't manage all of it but we were asked if we'd like to take the remainder home and were given bags. Also the place including the toilets was spotless.

I think the waiting staff need more training. We were offered hot milk with our earl grey tea..bizarre. When my friend complained that the carrot cake was very dry, he was told it was because it was gluten free, as if that made it acceptable. That's no excuse to serve substandard cake, there are plenty of very moist gluten free cakes. Bad cake is bad cake.
