Been here twice and each time I've had a similar experience, the second time I went me and my family thought to try a new place to have dinner out and so we went here, we sat where the tv's were so we could watch a game but just as we ordered we regretted sitting where we did as there was crowds of young men everywhere shouting and screaming and causing disruption for families like us who were trying to have a nice quiet dinner. So we moved tables, it was still quite loud but a lot better. The food was good and the service was fast though, my only complaints are the noise and the wet sticky tables.

Lovely friendly pub and well worth a visit.

A lovely pub which me and the family like to visit whenever in Skipton. Today was the first time visiting on a Saturday and the blonde lady at the bar was quite rude, she gave us one wrong sized drink and seemed annoyed when we ordered food. Overall a good pub but some of the weekend staff need some customer service training.

The Blackhorse is a lovely, relaxing public house with friendly staff. My family and I all enjoyed our food, and I would highly recommend anyone to go when visiting Skipton.Kid-friendliness: Menus available for children.

A nice meal at good prices. Chicken, bacon and cheese melt with chips and peas. Very tasty and quick

We have been here before and enjoyed the food so much we decided to visit again. The burgers here are so good! The service was great and the staff very friendly. They have good deals on their burgers menu and light sides that you can add a drink for a low cost so its very budget friendly and we always leave feeling full. The chicken and chorizo croquettes were amazing, i could personally eat about 50 of them. It's a cosy and relaxed atmosphere and we will surely be back when we next visit skipton.

Great bar service and ordering with a really friendly young man taking our order.Lovely meal but not impressed when our starter is brought to the table with our main courseI queried this but the young waitress shrugged her shoulders and said it wasnt put down as a starter. On the menu card it states STARTER.Retraining in order I believe.

We regularly visit Skipton but we'd never been in the Blackhorse. We really fancied a bit of classic pub grub this day and it hit the spot. Will deffo be going again. Also a bonus that we were able to take the dog in!

Popped in for lunch yesterday, the place was reasonably busy but certainly not full. Sat down and picked out sandwiches from the menu. The bottom bar was closed which seemed odd as it’s the main bar but I made my way to the open top bar. Despite there only being one person in front of me it took forever for the very grumpy looking waitress to complete the order. I was clearly stood in front of her with a menu in hand yet instead of letting me know at that point that there was at least an hours wait for food, left me to queue up. After eventually getting to the front I gave my table number to be told bluntly that food would be over an hour. I didn’t fancy waiting an hour for a sandwich so left at this point. The staff didn’t seem at all bothered and if anything made you feel like an inconvenience. I pop in here fairly regularly for a drink and generally like the place however hadn’t eaten here for several years after having a very mediocre meal last time I ate there. With this experience it’s unlikely I’ll be trying again. I’m not sure what the point of having a really big venue is if you can’t cater to the people it holds.

Lady with long brown hair shouting at us to move , very poor attitude will not be rushing back anytime soon Would not recommend this pub lots of places in Skipton that appreciate your custom.

Popped twice whilst Christmas Market was on. New owners have already turned the place around in the short time of been there. Top bar is open and staff are better trained. Nice to see it busy and a nice pleasant atmosphere. Nice decorations and the smell mulled wine made it a cosy feeling pub. Definitely recommend popping in to eat or a drink. Great place for a coffee too.
