Very disappointed after reading all the 5 * reviews. You have to walk through the shop to get to the café. Staff behind the counter did not respond to our Good Morning! just ignored us.The steps to the cafe are VERY steep and could be awkward for some people. First impression is of a very small and dismal seating area with jut one small window, about room for 13/14 people close together. The menus are good, clear and well presented. The service was poor. It was not that we had to wait long it was the waitress, She arrived at the table with pad in hand and just stood there, no greeting, not what would you like just silence. We gave our order and she just walked away!! to return shortly with our order, just placed on table and departed. Again no speech. The specialist coffee was excellent, but very expensive, £8 for no more than 4 mouths-full, but it was good. The food was good also. When you leave, you are required to pay downstairs in the shop, no complaint about the principle of that, but the young man behind the counter had no idea what we had ordered or what the prices were. We had to wait until our silent waitress appeared to show him what to do.Conclusion: Food and drink excellent.service and atmosphere leave a lot to be desired.

An individual shop and café. Staff are friendly and polite and take care of their customers well.Such a relaxed, easy going atmosphere. Super coffee, roasted in situ - lovely.

Really happy to find this on a walk around Skipton. Fantastic range of tea and coffee (and cakes). Very much looking forward to going back... There are about 50 more types of tea for me to try!

Always good for loose leaf tea, which we buy regularly, Skipton Water blend, good strong brew, always have a takeaway Coffee, which is also good, I would go as far to say, best in SkiptonParking: Outside the shop

Lovely place and atmosphere, great coffee. Stumbled across it by accident but very happy to have found it

Today's lucky find...a dog-friendly, atmospheric and very reasonably priced little coffee cafe with friendly, fast and helpful staff. Loved my Caffe Borgia and marmite cheese scone. I'll be back to explore the shop area next.

Relaxing cafe and shop specialising in world teas and coffees. Beans or ground on the premises. Independent.

Like coffee? Half close your eyes, let the bell as you push open the door at Exchange Coffee take you to dreamland! Seriously, easily the most delicious and very reasonably priced cups/cafetières/drippers(!) to be found in Skipton, only a short walk from the town centre, made with a wonderful freshly ground range of different coffees from around the world - all available to buy too (they also do a fantastic range of teas)

I have rarely found such a great coffee shop. And I've been around a bit. The decor is traditional, reminiscent of times past. Simply put, the cappuccino is the best I ever had. My daughter's hot chocolate was delightful and the croissants perfect. All put together by lovely staff who obviously care. And it's not expensive. Fantastic.
Only a little way out of town but with the trip for the excellent coffee selection. An absolute gem

This place is brilliant! They roast their own beans, and have a very wide selection. They will grind whatever beans you want for your chosen cup or cafetière - which each have very different coffee taste, so that’s great. You can then buy beans (or they will grind them to your desired grind for you). They also sell loose leaf tea, and equipment. The cafe is up a spiral staircase, and is a quirky mix of seating areas. Loved it! They also have shops in Blackburn and Clitheroe, and do mail order.

Awesome coffee , very reasonably priced. Nice indoor and outdoor seating. We came here twice, all the coffees we tried were nice than any other we’ve had anywhere this year! Bought 6 bags of coffee… they’ve got 30 odd varieties

Best coffee shop we’ve ever been too! And excellent value. It’s hard to find a flat white for less than £3 these days, it was only £2.30 here.

Decaf coffee unfortunately lacking in any flavour other than burnt. Maybe it was an older batch as decaf looses its flavour very quickly. Will return due to very friendly and helpful staff, and hope for a better batch next time.
