Stayed here after doing the 3 Peaks and it was perfect. Really nice room, clean modern bathroom, good coffee/tea making facilities, very warm service from stepping in the door. The restaurant is also great. We had dinner here which I'd describe as really high quality comfort food. Then breakfast was also included with the room (which I don't think is well advertised!), there was a variety on offer, all fresh local ingredients.Very nice vibe in the place, log fires, nice bar, chilled restaurant. Would recommend it all.

Fate brought us here! ?These guys are the absolute salt of the earth. After my son and I found ourselves stranded due to car problems and AA not considering our plea of help as didn't show as taxed on gov site yet had proof it was (that's another story altogether) we found this wee hotel and booked a double room as it was as no twins advertised.Upon arrival, I was actually approached outside asking if we were OK as he seen the distress of the car bonnet being up and my son and I looking wiped out (we had spent hours abandoned trying to find a way to get help from AA over 200 miles from home)He was a very welcome face and as I'd advised we have just booked a room and have had one he'll of a day, he kindly offered to go make up room into twins which I thought was fantastic at the off. As we went in we grabbed a seat and seen that food had stopped bear an hour ago, I was so concerned for my son as we hadn't eaten for quite some time due to events outwith our control. The staff here said please don't worry we will go see the chef see if he can make something which he happily said yes to. Honestly felt like crying, these folk don't know us and were so, so welcoming and wanted desperately to help us try settle, absolutely impeccable service ? my son thoroughly enjoyed his food and I relented to a wine to relax a bit, we sat in the wee lounge and told jokes and giggled and some of the staff even came over and sat with us and blethered, it was honestly the best. The room was lovely also and the breakfast the next day superb. Yet again everyone pulled out all the stops the next day to try help us, finding mechanics, offers of lifts to train station and so much more. Absolutely nothing was a bother. There is so much more to this story from the point of leaving The Plough but that's another chapter lol and this is, after all, a review of The PloughThe staff delivered impeccable customer service and are very caring genuine people, who brightened our very dark day. I thank you that from the bottom of my heartThe rooms were lively with lots of rustic character and the food was fantastic....oh and the wine lol.We are hoping to visit again in the next month to thank everyone for being the absolute best!!Thank you all, from the Scottish mum and son ????????x

Stayed here overnight for my wife's 60th birthday celebration together in February. The whole experience was absolutely amazing. My wife loved it. The staff were friendly & very capable, and the room was great, clean, decent coffee machine, good shower, comfortable bed. The bar had decent cask ales & a good selection of gins, the meal was lovely with great presentation. I immediately felt like the staff here cared & enjoyed what they did. This place is really good value for money. Well done...

Lovely place, pub is nice and welcoming when you arrive. The food was absolutely delicious, big portions, well cooked and service great. Our room was quiet, bed very comfortable. Will definitely stay again.Rooms: Nespresso machine in our room and plenty of tea bags. Plus, fresh milk which was great as we were very tired and spent most of the evening in our room, so was nice to have proper milk! Bed was nice and firm, and a good size.Food & drinks: The food was amazing. We stayed on Sunday and it was a nice surprise to still have roasts available at 6pm (nowhere round us do that). The roast beef was delicious, all the trimmings with the roast. I had fish and chips which was massive, and the chips were great. The crumble portion was huge, I struggled to eat half, but it was delicious. We can't wait to go back and try the regular evening menu.
