Lovely friendly canal side pub.

Nice, local pub, well appointed and located alongside canal, dog friendly. Food looked good. Friendly host, chatted about Rugby League.

Worst roast dinner I’ve ever had, Yorkshire pudding was cremated, mash had a skin on, roast potatoes rock hard and the veg tasted like soap! At payment asked if everything was okay, to which my partner said no not really, the fella said nothing proceeded to take payment. Definitely would not

Georgia Beck

Not best pleased with the food, Yorkshire pudding was burnt, veg bland and stuffing filled most my plate.. when asked if everything was okay with the food I said not really no and he proceeded to take my payment and said nothing will not be

We almost walked straight passed we often visit Skipton for a bite to eat, and our usual haunt was busy. I'm so pleased it was. The food was excellent, portions that even I was satisfied with, and that is saying something service excellent. There are cheaper places eat, but you get what you pay for. Please keep it up and we will definitely be back.

Good old traditional pub with a great staff, good beer and open fires. This is one of our 'go to' pubs in Skipton.

Once again great food and friendly staff. Highly recommend the corn beef hash and the mac n cheese.

We didn't have high hopes after walking in, only because it's so small, we assumed they probably wouldn't bother putting loads of effort into food when they don't have many to feed. We were very wrong. The steak pie was packed full of meat and was delicious. The puds were great portions and equally as delicious. It's a lovely little hideaway and I'm glad we've found it.Staff also very nice and welcoming.

Market day in Skipton so we needed a refuel, the steak and kidney pudding was recommended by the next table, packed with massive pieces of steak claiming to be 1lb (500g) in weight it was the best one I've had.My wife had the Royal Shepherd pie very tasty and generous portions, dog friendly, very helpful staff, CAMRA 10% discount on food, good choice of hand pulled ales and near the canal bet it's popular in summer, well worth seeking out away from the main streetVegetarian options: Good choiceKid-friendliness: Children well catered forWheelchair accessibility: Staff very helpful to Customers on the next table when leaving, brought her wheelchair to the table
