Had a lovely afternoon tea for 2. Fresh sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, some amazing cakes to choose from all served with a selection of teas. Definitely recommend it.

A delightful little cafe, tucked away at the bottom of the Abbey steps, as the name suggests. Delicious food, best coffee we've had in a long time, friendly staff. Would highly recommend. We'll certainly revisit.

Lovely staff who accommodated my request for a vegan meal with kindness. The tearoom is in a great spot at the bottom of the Whitby Abbey steps. Small but wekcoming.

Had an absolutely fantastic lunch here, with a prawn and lemon mayo doorstop of a sandwich, and a scone with jam and cream to follow. Loved that the cups of tea came in an amazing vintage teapot with a proper China cup and saucer and the brews tasted great. The staff were brilliant, and the spot was totally unique, sitting outside to watch people come up or down the iconic 199 steps. Overall, we had a lovely visit. Highly recommended!

Fantastic cuppa and BLT sandwich was tasty. Served fresh with good presentation. Service was impeccable. Location - ideal. A cuppa before the 199 steps!

Lovely tea rooms which are ideally positioned at the base of 199 steps. Victoria sponge was very tasty and well presented, clearly hand made.Tea was perfect too. I'd certainly make another visit when next in Whitby.

Popped in for a cup of coffee and then couldn't resist having a scone. Sweet for 'himself' and savoury for me. Lovely scones. Nice and soft. The chutney served with the cheese scone was gorgeous.

"the best scone I have ever had, on another level" to quote my friend. The coffee was excellent catering for all tastes with various milk options.Cakes were very nice but sadly for two of the party, not vegan friendly.Hosts were very friendly and the music was spot on.Surprisingly quiet for such good coffee ☕Vegetarian options: Extensive vegetarian menu with lots of choices of sandwiches, light meals and cakes

Went for brunch with my partner… 5 star service from the host Sarah. Everything we needed was provided and nothing was too much trouble for her. We especially loved our sandwich- will be back soon x
