Quirky, unique and an excellent place to stay with beautiful rooms and comfortable beds. The bathroom fittings and bath are well maintained, clean and the shower pressure is amazing! The rooms could possibly be serviced daily for the price, however this would not stop us from coming back

Absolute gem! Located in a quiet area of Whitby, this unassuming restaurant is relatively small (20 ish covers) but provides a superb atmosphere - friendly, relaxed and special. Staff could not be more helpful and food, whilst a relatively limited selection, gave enough choice for most and cooked and presented to a great standard. I thought the price was very competitive for the quality and even treated ourselves to a bottle of bubbly as it was the last day of our trip. I later read that the restaurant would only be open on limited days - so be sure to book in advance to avoid disappointment!

Absolutely amazing breakfast in stunning grounds with fantastic service. Choice was great, I had eggs Florentine and my partner had a breakfast and honestly the price was about £13 each. Well worth it!

This has to be the best Value for Money Café on Yorkshire's East Coast. The food is freshly cooked, tasty and plentiful (to say the least!). We used it for breakfast although mid/late morning meals are also available.\nIt offers seating or take-away and it is popular with locals and tourists alike, which speaks volumes. Indeed, this popularity is its one drawback so get there early or be prepared to queue.

Really great experience in here on the way back to the campsite.
Good range of drinks to choose from, sadly nothing hot as my wife would have liked but great none the less.
Entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays, sadly we missed this but will come back when it's on.
Lovely atmosphere about the place with really good facilities.
Abbey views are superb.
Highly recommend and we will call again.

Excellent Italian restaurant in Whitby. Very popular so book first. We went early (5.30pm) midweek, and it was busy. Staff were very friendly and efficient. The red wine (Nero) was very good for the cost. The food was delivered in good time, hot, and full of flavour. Good size portions. Staff were attentive but not pushy and we didn't feel rushed at all. We were seated upstairs, which could be an issue for anyone with mobility problems so ask for seating on the ground floor. Nice decor and a good atmosphere. Recommended.

Great pies and mash, the atmosphere is perfect and quirky. Everything about Humble pie is so welcoming.
The service was really quick and the staff were fantastic. The short crust pastry is excellent, thin and so crispy. Being so popular they even have benches outside so you can sit waiting for a table, which does not take long.

The quality of the food was outstanding , the portion sizes were really good and the staff were friendly.
Would definitely recommend. Only a very small outside area which was a shame as it was a lovely evening. Not much real atmosphere but there was some quiet music playing which was good.

What can I say, truly a pub from yesteryear. It may be small, but it has masses of character. Loved the tiny bars with no phone or wifi connection, makes you actually speak to the other people. I loved the local Beckwatter brew, highly recommended. Oh and it's cash only, no cards!

Have never been here before but booked here to stay two nights for myself and mum as her first get away since dad passed and can I say we were not disappointed! What an amazing little find! so it doesn't have a kitchen who cares but feel free to bring your own food and have a few beers! We were made to feel like locals and welcomed as part of the family, the atmosphere was amazing and the fire crackled and the cocktail list well there wasnt simply enough time to try them all! would highly recommend and if we go back to whitby, which i think we will, I will be trying to book there first! bloody loved it!!!

A must visit cafe every time we walk from Whitby to Sandsend. The reward for getting there is a fresh crab sandwich which is delicious. The cafe is popular at peak times but if you wait a short time you will get a seat. The menu offers a good variety of choice along with vegetarian options & a selection of drinks. This cafe is highly recommended, please give it a try & support local businesses.

I visited on the 19/8/26 The staff were lovely, polite and always happy to help. It was a very busy café, with the staff clearly rushed off their feet during the breakfast rush, but they were still doing their absolute best to look after everyone. Unfortunately, one customer came downstairs and spoke to the staff in an incredibly rude and disrespectful manner. There were no “please” or “thank yous” — just demands. She became particularly rude when she had an issue, and sadly made a young blonde waitress cry, which I found completely unacceptable. She was clearly trying her best in an extremely busy environment. Another customer even confronted the woman about how she was speaking to the staff, but she didn’t seem to appreciate being called out for her behaviour. She then asked for a refund in the same rude manner, again without any basic courtesy. Her husband said she wasn’t being rude, but I explained that I had personally witnessed how she spoke to the staff and, in my opinion, it was completely out of order. What impressed me most was that the staff continued to remain kind, polite and professional, even while clearly upset and holding back tears. Despite this incident, I would absolutely eat here again. The food was lovely, and the staff were fantastic — kind, friendly and always polite. 10/10 from me, and a big thank you to the staff for handling such a difficult situation with professionalism. As for the woman who was rude I hope you see this & understand there is a way to speak to people in this world & that wasn’t the way maybe try working a shift in a busy popular cafe & you would understand! Thank you!

Fantastic coffee and range of on site baked bread and cakes. Too late on for us to try items from their menu of other items.

I brought away some beautiful fruit flapjacks. While there had a very well made barista Flat White. Going to return.

Called in this afternoon, 13th January. I have severe allergies to dairy and egg, I called to checked ingredients in the batter the day before and everything was fine. The batter is delicious, just as it should be for proper fish and chips. We all had Fish and chips and they were fantastic, and proper mushy peas, all was great value and the young man in the resteraunt were first class. I do prefer my haddock with skin off so today I hit jackpot as there was no skin, yippee. Loved the crinkle chips too We will definitely return

I could not recommend a better place in Whitby to have absolutely immaculate cocktails with an amazing atmosphere. The recommended cocktails were some I would never have thought of having and have become my new favourites! I would highly recommend coming here as the atmosphere and staff are AMAZING.
