Fantastic food! Generous portions and a good varied selection. Food and drinks nicely priced too. Waitress was very friendly and looked the part. Decor was cool and the background music added to the diner vibe. Quick service. Would definitely eat here again and recommend. Thank for a great experience.

Wow! What can I say! Worth every single penny and it wasn't expensive at all. Huge portions of excellent quality food, cocktails with a Halloween twist but named after some classic rock n roll songs! Absolutely loved it! It was just a plus that we were there just before Halloween! Highly recommend to anybody.

Hidden in the historic town of Whitby, and dressed ready for Halloween, my wife and I opted to visit the American diner. We started with Milkshakes coming in very creepy Halloween style looked fantastic, so much effort to continue the theme into the drinks menu, the neighbouring table had ordered cocktails looking equally as impressive. Moving onto our mains and sides - burgers well presented with good portion sizes, having a side of chilli loaded fries I was really surprised with the taste and texture of the chilli,my wife doesn’t ordinarily like anything with mince meat but eyes widened in delight with its taste. I ordered a banana split, annd with great humour found a skeleton emerging from it andthough rising from the grave. My wife ordered cookie dough and I quote “that puts pizza huts cookie dough to shame” which she is extremely fond of. Highly recommended to dine here

Fantastical diner with a cross between British and American culture. Amazing food and shakes. A real treat for breakfast and dinner.Vegetarian options: Good choice of veggie options, whole section of the menu. Veggie hot dogs were the best we'd ever tried.

Didn’t know anything about this Diner, went walking around & stumbled across Emma’s Diner by pure accident. Amazing set up to celebrate Hallowe’en & very friendly staff. Food was amazing & the milkshakes must not be missed. The food was top quality & more than generous, I literally couldn’t finish my meal because of it, every mouthful was yummy. As for price, you couldn’t fault it, 4 people with mains & drinks for under £85 was second to none in the area. ps …. The best eclectic music playlist ever!

Superb restaurant with great food and service. This place does Halloween 150% and it was so cool. Loved the food, tasty and huge portions and all perfectly cooked. Would definitely recommend.

So waitress did her best So my order came but it should of gone to another table. This mean t I aye my foid before my sister. We got a free cocktail as a sorry which was nice of them So why 3 stars - my nachos where not great ended up leaving loads of them, my sister had a vegan burger which was very soggy wet bread and she left a lot of the food But again want to say the waitress did her best

Excellent service. Very busy Sunday morning breakfast crowd. Staff attentive and friendly. Took our order promptly and wrote it down ( I like that) My wife had a breakfast wrap that was suffient for two people so she brought the extra home for later. I had the large full English. Superb. I always judge a full English on sausages and bacon. It's the only items the restaurant can really do anything about. Both were wonderful. The sausages were meaty and well cooked. The bacon was some of the best I've eaten. Not a fan of beans in pots but that's a personal preference and has no effect on my review. If I was to be picky I would suggest two pats of butter per slice of toast ( they are rather large rounds of bloomer bread). Atmosphere was friendly and quirky. The decaffeinated coffee was rather nice as well. Overall bill with tip was £35 for two meals two large fruit juices and a cup of Coffee. Not cheap but actually very good value for the quality and quantity and ambiance. Would 100% recommend and will be returning later in the week.

Went to Emmas tonight for tea. First problem is you cant book. We ended up queueing for 25 minutes to get in. Once we got in, we were seated promptly and our waitress tried to take our drink order. My wife and I asked for a lime an soda- its an American Diner right? Soda Fountain ( or modern pyrhon) so that you can have a soda? WRONG! They dont have soda - so I had lime syrup and a bottle of water. We then waited 25 minutes, for a classic burger, southern fried chicken and a chicken skewer. Now all of this cones with.... skin on fries. Or you can pay extra for curly or sweet potato fries. Skin on fries are not what a diner would serve - it should have been bootlace / string / french fries. Additionally the fat in the grease friers isnt hot enough. The fries weren't crispy, they kind of wilted. Plese use hotter fat and offer propper french fries. My burger was OK, but it was nothing to write home about. It was pretty average - not really worth £15. This is 50% more expensive than Five Guys!! My daughter then started to eat her southern fried chicken - whose special herbs and spices mix consisted mainly of Cinamon!!! Not just a little cinamon, but so much you could smell it as you approached the table. Being fair, the manageress agreed that it shouldnt taste like that, and knocked the meal and drinks off the bill and offered us another meal. By then we had eaten much of our meals and declined anything else (the evening was pretty much ruined by then). We paid the bill (which is CASH ONLY !!!) and left. As a positive the look of the place is reminiscent of a 50s soda / milk bar and the staff are lovely and were very apologetic. My comments for the owner, if you want to be more of an American Diner, are: 1. Get french fries - skin on fries suck 2. You need hotter grease friers 3. Hot dogs should be hot dogs - not jumbo sausages in a bun 4. Your onions should be dehydrated and boiled - not grilled on a hot-dog 5. Ketchup and French's Mustard should be in squeezy bottles on every tables, not served in tiny bowls on demand 6. Salt and Pepper should be in cruets on every table - not Tesco himalayan salt on demand. 7. Your burgers need searing on a grill for that great flavour, not frying on a plancha. 8. Add some American classics like mac'n'cheese, steak tips or wings. 9. CASH ONLY ???? This is 2023, you need card payment. For this alone, I wouldnt return

Great service, fantastic food and super retro atmosphere with fabulous music! We visited here in 2019 and visited again tonight as we’d really enjoyed our visit last time. The food was as delicious as last time and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. We were meeting up with friends we hadn’t seen for a few years, and the happy atmosphere of Emma’s Diner really added to the occasion. We had a lovely evening. This is a great family restaurant with high quality food at reasonable prices. Well worth a visit if you’re in Whitby.

What a fabulous place this is! Retro, funky and quirky with a lovely atmosphere. The burgers are amazing and the onion rings were like car tyres!! Reasonably priced and the staff were great. This place is definitely worth a visit. We will definitely be eating there again on our next visit.
