We had booked a table for 8pm but arrived around 15 mins early. We were seated straight away.We sat around 15 mins waiting for someone to take the drinks order and then at around 8.15pm we ordered starters and mains. By 9pm the main courses still hadn't arrived. We were told that our food would come in 10 minutes but we were still waiting 15 minutes later. The customers on tables either side of us had also waited around an hour for food and one of those had asked for the bill 3 times after finishing their meal and still did not receive it to the table. We felt that we had waited too long for the food, it was getting too late for us to eat such a big meal, we decided to leave. We'd had a poppadom and pickle tray, the poppadoms were over done and tasted burnt. One of us had a onion bhaji which was ok. We asked for more water twice and did not receive it.The staff were pleasant enough and we did receive an apology and were told that there would be no charge. We'd had a lovely day in Whitby but this was a disappointing end to it.

Disappointing! The restaurant itself is quite nice inside however that's where the praise stops unfortunately. The restaurant was cold with may customers opting to keep their coats on, the food was poor, it resembled a 'supermarket curry', and the service was poor too, waiting 40 minutes between our starters and main.Needless to say we won't be in any rush to go back

Ordered a meal for collection , the gentleman on the phone was efficient and friendlyI ordered sag aloo , vegetable rice , garlic nann and tandoori chickenThe sag aloo tasted quite sour , very little spice and the same with the rice , the nann bread was very sweet and tasted more like a peshwari than a garlic , the tandoori chicken had no spice at all , didn’t taste or look at all like tandoori chicken , very very disappointingMy husband ordered lamb bhuna , the meat was tender and he said that he enjoyed it

We picked a very busy night to go, NYE, although we did pre-book well in advance. The food was OK and well presented. The service was good, we didn't feel rushed or feel that we were waiting too long between courses. We weren't however, offered further drinks.

We've been coming here for years and have always loved the food. But, tonight we ordered delivery and all we can collectively say is that after far too long a wait for our food (1hr 20mins) - it was really, really disappointingly poor. The nan bread was rubbish, the chicken pakora were inedible and the curries (dansak, pathia and tikka masala) were well below average. Really not great.
