Lovely atmosphere,we only had cocktails, but they were excellent. They currently have 12 Christmas cocktails on offer at the moment, two for £18. Expertly made and worth every penny,I highly recommend the "All I want for Christmas" cocktail.Unable to eat here due to lack of vegan options.

A really nice restaurant on the water, mega food and good drink! The burrito was great value and fries were lovely! My partners halloumi was too big a portion for her, and on helping her finish it, was also really tasty. Friendly staff, happy to leave a tip as the restaurant girl was on her own and worked hard ensuring everyone was happy.

Food and drink was 10/10 one of the best meals and cocktails we had in whitby ! Managed to get a table on a busy friday night and so glad we did the raspberry daiquiri was gorgeous as was the enchilada and taco bowl we had. Will definitely visit again and recommend to anyone ! To make it even better it was very well priced.

Went here for a romantic meal with my husband. Soon as we got there we we welcomed and sat to our seat. Waitress was very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Menu was full of different options. I had the steak and my only little gripe there was it didn't tell you a weight of the steak nor did they do any sauces to go with it. It came with a butter on it. I think it would have been nice to be asked if you wanted it on or at the side. I had a brownie for pudding however I couldn't eat it, it was dry and smelt burnt. I did mention it on paying and they advised the usual chef was on holiday and not usually that standard and they refunded the brownie price.

First visit to North Yorkshire and began with three nights at the Moon and Sixpence Whitby. Had a lovely stay very friendly owner and staff who were very helpful. The room was enormous and tastefully decorated though a little outdated this didn’t matter it was comfortable and felt grand. Loved the bath I the room. Had separate shower room though didn’t like the see through glass door in front of the toilet!! Breakfast was just a cooked breakfast no option of cereals or toast and marmalade. The cooked breakfast was fantastic nothing to fault very tasty sausages and bacon plenty on the plate. I would recommend it great location and hope the owners continue to make a go of it and afford to just Gresham up areas.

Constructive criticism...Really need to be more aware of your customers! First time here, we walked in and asked if dogs were allowed, told yes they were. Great. Then we were basically ignored! There were no menus on the table and we weren't invited to order drinks or told what the ordering system was so we sat at a table and waited presuming table service. However, the 2 bar girls/waitresses continued to ignore us. The bar went quiet and they started drinking coffee and doing whatever at the bar so went to the bar to try and order, they both remained with their backs to the bar, one sipping coffee, one sorting bills or something. Very nearly walked out but they finally bothered to actually look at the bar and see me!! After enquiring, it became apparent you have to order food and drinks at the bar, and you have to ask for a menu and pay as you order. All this should have been explained to us on entry, would have taken 10 seconds!! By this point a manager/owner (I presume) turned up who was on the ball and took my order. Food was good, scampi in a basket and nachos. I would have preferred my dips separately not all slopped on top of the nachos. But generally food was good. First impressions are very important and ours wasn't great! Would come again though.

...out of the rain for a gin and tonic and a beer. Service was friendly and swift. The bar has a good vibe, and an enticing cocktail / mocktail menu on the wall. Will definitely be back

Went in for drinks. It was very busy as you would expect from a holiday weekend, which was fine, decent atmosphere.Sadly we were met by an employee who was just rude. She was completely devoid of all the basic skills needed for working in a customer facing industry.Just came across as if everything was just too much bother, not good.

Perhaps we just expect too much but food choices in Whitby on a Sunday evening, avoiding fish and chips , we’re limited to say the least! Decided on The Moon and Sixpence. We had a cocktail before we ate, all 3 were delicious . The food, however, was bland. Battered king prawns were totally tasteless. The chicken burrito was heavy on the chips and light in the chicken and one of them included a bone. In fairness, when this was pointed out, the waitress very quickly removed it from the bill. Wouldn’t return, unless it was for a cocktail!

Had a lovely meal at this relaxed harbour side restaurant . We had not been to Whitby for many years , but remembered the Moon and Sixpence from a previous visit. It has a varied menu , offering some Tex Mex dishes, which we really love. The restaurant is up a small flight of steps at the rear of the bar. The bar offers a range of cocktails, as well as all the usual drinks.

Fantastic place to sit and chill people watching. Great friendly service and the young lady doing the cocktails was brilliant at her job ?

Looks a really nice place do called in. I know they were busy but were completely ignored and blatantly served others first. And I mean completely ignored, so from our exerience completely lacking in customer service.
