Stayed last weekend in 1 of there cottages rustic but comfortable and clean had a problem with the electrics last morning and had to ditch our breakfast fare play to them they gave us a free breakfast in there restaurant. We did eat in the restaurant the night before and was very disappointed took 1 and a half hours to get our main course from having the starters and I think they had cooked some of the mains and kept them warm until the rest was ready sorry butt the steak was tasteless and onion rings were dry as old boots expected better than this as it came from a recommendation from a friend of mine a well known chef .Nearby activities: Central to old town whitbyFood & drinks: Drink was fine let down with food

It is not a stretch to say this could be one of the best pubs in Whitby. The service, atmosphere, and selection was 1st class coming for both lunch and a pint in the afternoon.

Didn't know to book in advance, my mistake. Staff member was an obnoxious twerp with no idea about manners

We booked in for an evening meal for my Wife's birthday. Both meals were superb, highly recommended.

Short notice restaurant booking, with a dog. We were accommodated in the private dining room. Service was great, and our hosts were happy and friendly. Food was top notch, and plentiful.

Had a lovely break at the WH&G - 3 nights bed and breakfast, plus a couple of meals in the restaurant. The room was clean and tidy and the facilities were great. The food was delicious and everything was reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and helpful without being over attentive. All in all a very nice stay at a traditional English inn. I would definitely stay here again. Top marks.Rooms: Clean, tidy and spacious. Our room was very comfortable and the facilities were great, I very much enjoyed talking a long bath after a bracing stroll along the beach in the snow.Food & drinks: Lovely choice of seasonal local produce, everything was well cooked and very tasty

We had a fantastic meal in the restaurant in the evening, we had ox cheek and the chicken supreme, both were out of this world with flavour!!Food & drinks: Food was amazing, the flavours were fantastic, we came in December 2023 and I had the mulled wine rice pudding with chutney and shortbread, it was extremely good!

Great location and aesthetics. Fun menu. Nice wines. Difficult to catch the stars attention. Smelly bar area. Food mediocre for cost.

Just dropped in for lunch, myself and my wife had Crab sandwiches and the crab tasted nice but the bread was hard all round the edges which spoiled it a bit and my son had the burger which have to say was a but on the small side, also the staff did not smile alot but the place itself is rustic and nice inside.

Our favourite stay across the UK. Beautiful rooms, retaining the original 1600s features, but with glorious beds and showers. We ate at the restaurant last night, and it was one of the best meals I have ever had (and I’m 51!) - the lamb was out of this world.Rooms: Gorgeous- really comfortable, but retaining all their period featuresNearby activities: Close to everything Whitby has to offer.Walkability: Easy to get to everything. Parking is difficult - but we ended up parking at the long stay which is about a 10 minute walkFood & drinks: Stunning

Lovely little pub for lunch. Fish, chips and mushy peas were beautifully cooked and reasonably priced. Relaxed atmosphere with very friendly staff. Will definitely go again next time we're in Whitby.
