The worst experience I have ever had in a cafe. They apparently have a policy which did not allow me to share a pot of tea with my mum. It was extremely awkward and half of the pot which we paid for went to waste. Not at all sustainable and extremely wasteful, never mind the awkwardness. Definitely will not be recommending this cafe to anyone.

The cafe is harmoniously decorated and the music in the background went well with the decor and atmosphere in the cafe. It was piano music.Coffee, hot chocolate and tea were good. A piece of cake was good, but presented very carelessly. The female waiter was friendly but not attentive. Not all the tables in the small cafe were occupied.I wanted to pay for a long time, but the conditions never looked my way. I don't want to shout through the cafe that I want to pay, I find that extremely indecent.A couple two tables away could pay and the terms and conditions were passed to the couple six times: she asked what they wanted, brought the bill, got the payment terminal, etc. Her eyes never went to the other tables. As soon as the couple paid, she cleared their table and the table next to us.Not a glance in my direction. It was only when we started putting on our jackets and stood up that we were noticed and I was finally able to pay.I expect a condition to repeatedly scan and consciously look at its guests. This ensures that the guest is noticed and does not have to make his presence known by calling. Please look at your guests and let their eyes wander regularly from table to table. This should be possible in such a small restaurant.

A lovely eatery in the shadow of York Minster with a great view of the intersecting roads too. Staff are friendly & proficient. Food is lovely too. Well worth a visit for breakfast, lunch or cake and coffee!

Saw this place by off chance. The scrambled egg on toast was beautiful. I don't know what the coffee was but it was lovely too .
Staff: I would give six stars out of five! The two women were very friendly, lovely, and simply delightful. Food: We ordered a scone with cream and jam each! The best! It was yummilicous! Ambience: It was busy, but it was a “pleasant” kind of busy. The classical music was great, not too loud so, you can still have a conversation without having to shout. It was really nice! Definitely a must visit!

avoid at all costs if you don’t want to be ripped of,sandwich consisting of 2 slices of white bread with one cheese slice in and a bit branston,a scone with cream and jam and a cup of filter coffee for 2 people came to just under 29 pounds then they had the cheek to ask for a 2.40 service charge, they should be on rip off britain

Popped in during our visit to the Christmas market for lunch, it was very busy but the staff were great, very organised & working flat out! Had sandwiches & mince pies with coffee & it was very good. Reasonably priced little place with lovely staff!
