1st time coming here for a meal after hearing lots of positive comments. They weren't wrong. The food, service, and the landlady were excellent. We will definitely be back.Dietary restrictions: Dietary details are on the menu.

Another fabulous family meal, the food was excellent and the service first class. If I have one criticism it would be, when we left, which would have been around 6ish, this is the first time we have left in the dark, there were no lights in the car park and it was pitch black. I would have really struggled getting to my car on the uneven ground without the torch on my phone and not great as a safety aspect.Parking: Needs lighting.

Really nice food and excellent, friendly service. It is quite a while since we visited the Victoria. We decided at short notice and booked a table for Sunday lunch. My wife had a fillet steak, I had trio of pork. The steak was declared to be the best she could remember. My pork, crispy belly, roast loin and black pudding was fresh and well cooked. The green vegetables were nicely Al-dente, the pommes dauphinois perfectly seasoned and really enjoyable. We shared a sticky toffee pudding. So many restaurants are mean with the sauce but here there was plenty which really made the pudding. We loved the lunch, and have booked a return next Sunday.

First time here for Sunday eve meal, a mile from A1, and not disappointed….We were a party of 6 and I think last to eat as last food order Sunday was 5.30 but no slacking in quality of food or service.Jovial landlord and friendly staff added to the evening out with friends enjoyment.Food menu was varied and included Sunday roast, but I had a fish and king prawn medley with all the veg and roast potatoes…. Fab !Following desert was Eaton Mess, to die for! See pic.We all said was great food!Complements to the Chef…We will be back, give it a try. ?

This place was a real find for me. A lovely old fashioned pub sitting in a small country village. It has ample parking and a wonderful welcome from the owner and staff. Not surprisingly busy but nothing too icy trouble. Great Sunday roasts plus many other good options. Cannot fault anything about this place.. It’s a 10 from me!

Having not been for some time decided to go for Sunday lunch and now wish we had gone more often! Excellent meal from start to finish and well worth the money. We had starter, main and desert; each dish was cooked and presented to perfection. My wife and daughter are lactose intolerant but we were given a folder with all the ingredients of each dish they could choose which made it so easy and stress free. The choice of the menu was excellent and made it very hard to select. The service was excellent without being pushy and we were made to feel welcome, any queries were answered promptly. Hope to return very soon.

Couldn’t fault the food it was delicious! Only issue we had was is wasn’t very child friendly. Our 2 1/2 year old got told he couldn’t play with his toy cause it was too noisy for when other people come in to eat. Although we were sat close to the bar where there was people in drinking talking loudly and swearing .
Had a great dinner here with my wife on 28/9/23. Great foodie pub. All staff were incredibly friendly and efficient Food was very, very good. I had delicious liver pate and the pork three ways, it was wonderful, particularly the black pudding. My wife had smoked salmon and goats cheese and the incredible steak and mushroom pie with Guinness. Highly recommended

Food great - went with 6 people, had a variety of dishes, everyone enjoyed them all. Front of house staff generally great, with the exception of the manager, who was one of the most sour-faced and grumpy people I've ever been served by. Everything was a grumpy huffed "OK" or "Right." - weird, and tainted the rest of the experience a bit.

When you enter you may wonder if the last time this place had a facelift was in Victorian times. It’s very 1960s with dark furniture, awful lighting and some equally dreary artwork. If you’re missing anaglypta….it’s here. The welcome, food and service is top drawer. Absolutely excellent in every area.
