Met with friends over lunch. Nice atmosphere and food was pretty good, although my cod wasn’t that hot. Chips were lovely but perhaps fish had sat for a while? Pease were also shrivelled. Other than that, nice.

What a warm, welcoming and well rounded pub. The epitome of the best a British pub could offer. And the room was bloomin’ lovely. Thank you.

We needed some accommodation for one night to break our journey. We did not expect some where so nice for just £50 so we were pleasantly surprised on arrival . Lovely little country pub with accommodation. We had a modern en suite room which was nicely presented. We decided to eat in the pub on the evening of our stay and the food was very good . Prior to dinner we enjoyed a drink by the open fire . Staff all very friendly and helpful. Would we stay again ? Most definitely.

Arrived to a very friendly landlord who showed us to our warm comfy room. Nothing fancy but just so homely. Went down to the bar for a cracking pint of Guinness and my partner choosing the white wine. A lovely open fire burning. The staff are so friendly, the locals very welcoming, and chatty. We then went on to order food. I had the steak and ale pie which is homemade on site. My partner had the beef stew with cheesy croutons. All I can say is wow. The pie on its own is worth travelling for. This place really is worth a visit. It’s a hidden gem.

Visited with friends. We had booked a table ( recommend if you can) on a Friday night in October. The pub was quite busy, but the waiter still made time to talk through the menu with us. The service from this chap was excellent and informative throughout the evening. When our food arrived, it was pipping hot and cooked to perfection. The pub had a lovely atmosphere, it was very clean and the food well presented.Would I recommend it? Yes, I certainly will.

Went here for lunch as the pub we planned on going to said open and when we got there it wasn't but very happy with the outcome in the end. Lovely food and friendly service. The dog is an added bonus.

A nice relaxed pub with good food and a flexible menu for 'fussy children'. A good find, and worthy of a visit. There was nothing negative. So if you have read this far, just go, or phone and book a table.
