We waited 45 minutes for our food which was very long considering there was hardly any other diners at the time we visited. (2pm)The very friendly barman was rushed off his feet serving drinks and clearing tables. This pub used to have so much warmth and atmosphere but during this visit for a Sunday lunch it felt cold, empty and dead. The prices are around £2-3 too much for what the quality of food that is being served.Maybe that explains why its so empty during the Sunday lunch service.Parking: The place was empty so there was lots of parking.Kid-friendliness: They have a wooden train outside that the kids can climb all over but it looks like it needs a good clean.

We decided to give the spread eagle a try and was not disappointed. The burgers were banging. Really nice feel to the place, good atmosphere and the coffee to finish was lovely. Staff really friendly, I will definitely be returning and recommend 100%.

Haven't eaten here for a while. Pedigree on draught is OK. Peroni, estrella etc. On keg. Spent an hour in here on a Sunday lunchtime listening to dirgey irish music on the PA banging on about the IRA. Not exactly easy or pleasant listening.

It says dogs welcome and we had a assistance dog with us and a young man (apparently the manager) said we weren't allowed the dog but we pointed out dogs welcome notice and informed him by law he couldn't be refused entry and his reply was if he could he would. We would have left and he just shrugged but as we had paid for our meal and he said it he couldn't refund us we stayed ... but won't return ... very disappointed.

We had a very enjoyable meal. All of us had steaks and they were quality steaks, cooked perfectly for us.The meal was excellent value for money.Throughout our stay, during our meal we were very well looked after by the young lady behind the bar.Unfortunately I didn’t ask her name, but she was a credit to the pub. She made us feel very welcome and we’ll be back in the near future.Parking: Plenty of space here

Genuinely shocked. Came on a Monday night, it was dead, yet they'd ran out of almost everything.Beef burgers were raw in the middle.Kids meals exactly the same size as adult meals, yet half the price?Only thing that was okay was the mixed grill, but I won't be back - what an absolute joke. So disappointed. No management on site to speak to, only one poor lad on the bar, waiting tables, cleaning. He was helpful, can't fault him at all.

Booked table for Mother’s Day for a big party of 10 pre-ordered food and requested prior to the meal and confirmed the day before that we Would be there. Initially we were greeted and shown to our tables. We then waited an hour and a half with absolutely no recognition that we were there. When approach the bar to ask a member of staff what was going on, they said they go and find out For us however, that member of staff did not return 20 minutes later. We approached the bar staff again to ask about our food when we were told it was being Plated up by then it was two hours. They were missing food from our order to which we had to wait another 20 minutes for it to be served, and the children’s burgers were not cooked they were cold And bloody/raw.(red inside )I know that when you have steak, you can have it that way, but not a Child burger. The service was appalling and would not be returning in the future, which is a shame because I always found this place quite reasonable in price and good service and lovely food. Went we ask to see the management. The member of staff came back and said they just left. Having to give them the benefit of the doubt that this was true, we were then offered 50% off our Meal along with the children’s meals being taken off altogether. We did get 50% off our meal however the children’s meals remained on the bill. We were also offered desert but haven’t spent that amount of time waiting for our we declined a very disappointing experience.

My sister booked The Spread Eagle for Mother's Day lunch for five of us, at 1pm and was asked to pre-order our menu choices. After a few queries (which were responded to quickly) our choices for starters and main were emailed to them.We arrived in good time, gave the staff behind the bar our name, and were shown to our reserved table. On sitting down at our table, my sister trod on what she first thought was dropped food. Unfortunately, it was a 'gift' on the carpet, left by a visiting dog, which was now all over her boot. We informed the staff who were as shocked as we were, and offered us another table while they cleaned the carpet. They said we could have drinks on the house, but we had already ordered and paid for drinks. At about 1.25pm we asked if our food would be coming out soon. The female staff looked confused and said we should have told the staff when we arrived, so the kitchen could be informed. We tried to explain that the food was pre-ordered and as we'd given our name on arrival, we naturally thought this would suffice. No apology offered, but after 10 to 15 minutes, our starters arrived. After another shorter wait, four of the mains were brought out, and we waited for the fifth. A staff member came over and asked "Is there anything missing?" to which my brother-in-law replied, "Yes, my meal". He had to tell her what he'd ordered and it was eventually brought out, after the rest of us had pretty much finished eating. The food was not brilliant (we've eaten here before on several occasions with no problems). At best it was pretty average with poor presentation, but the service was very poor with the staff appearing to be inexperienced and disorganised, trying to cope with difficult situations. Another larger group were also having problems and asked to speak to the manager - they were told she'd left the building. It's such a shame that a once brilliant pub with great facilities has deteriorated to this low standard. The staff need more support and more training and there should be better communication between kitchen and front of house staff. The staff appeared to lack experience and there didn't seem to be anyone around to manage the issues or give guidance. They reduced our bill by 30% but this was sadly not a pleasurable or relaxing Mother's Day meal out!

Firstly, the inside of this pub/restaurant looks very tired and a bit grubby. Once at are table we took off are coats like you do to find it was pretty cold inside the building. upon ordering our meals I walked up to the bar that was unstaffed I waited for sometime when eventually a staff member that was already rushed off her feet came to my aid I placed my order being a mixed grill and a sirloin steak meal I was then told they had ran out of the mixed grill so I just order another sirloin steak meal I was then told that there would be a delay with the meal up to 30 minutes wait. I ordered some drinks to find out they had run out of some alcoholic drinks as well??so I had to order the next best thing that they had. Are meals came in haft the time we were told it would be which was nice but on inspection we were given rump steak instead of sirloin steak which costs less on there menu and not only that the steaks were just slightly warm I didn’t get a chance to complain as by the time I noticed this the staff member that brought the meal was quickly gone. I just excepted it for what it was the rest of the meal was warmer but quickly started to get cold as the room temperature was cold so you had to eat fast. all in all it was an some what unpleasant experience form being cold to getting a poor service from struggling staff trying to keep on top of it all Within a some what grubby under heated and under staffed pub/restaurant
