For the attention of Angela, the presumably absent manager. Really terrible experience at this Costa (Saturday 2.12.23). Walked in at 16:00 or so, and ordered a hot choc which was given to me in a to-go cup (not what I ordered but wasn't going to make a fuss over the cup type). They had already barricaded off a section for cleaning which surprised me since there was still 1.5hours of service. I sat down on a comfy chair outside of the barricaded area, and it was clear that the employee was pissed I sat there. She then barricaded me into this section so no one else could sit in my vicinity. She continued to clean loudly and inappropriately at my elbow, putting chairs on the table even though it was not even 16:30 (they close at 17:30). I stubbornly ignored her and kept reading my book even though she was pressuring me, making me feel openly unwelcome and putting me on edge. At 17:15 they turned the music off, started talking to each other loudly and counting the money. At 17:22 she lied to me telling me they close in two minutes. I told her I would leave at half past. On my way out I asked the name of the manager. I have worked as a waitress in a restaurant and it is unheard of to start closing the place down an hour and a half early. Even having to clean up after 17:30 when the place officially closes, is very reasonable. I had many a night when customers were still at the restaurant at midnight even though the kitchen closed at 10pm. I had to stay behind after those guests left and clean eith our team until 00:45. You cannot tell me that this coffee-shop job is a hard gig and as a customer I refute that I overstayed my welcome. Costa Coffee needs to seriously reconsider their employees and customer service at this branch as they have the brand image to consider and be held accountable to. You have lost me as a customer.

I came to Costa Coffee in Kettering today 22/08/2023 at 10.30am with my business client to have a coffee, I have been badly served by a staff, she wasn't helpful but very moody and when I order for second coffee and asked for her Wi-Fi, she didn't want to give to me. I Hope the manage of Costa give the staff a training before present the Brand.

Not impressed with this costa in Kettering Town, person serving very abrupt, the latte wasn't that great, the teabag thrown in a glass tall cup, and a small pot of water. Another girl seemed to be the general dogsbody and doing at lot of the work, and then to start hoovering while the shop is half full, was somewhat surprising. Don't think we will be visiting this costa again. Coffee with a snarl isn't our thing

Why do the staff feel it's okay to close off part of the store 90 minutes before the closing time indicated on the door? It's very annoying to have staff vacuuming around you when you're trying to enjoy an afternoon cuppa.
