Butchers Arms

Beautiful pub set in a lovely village, ample parking, with a good sized garden area. Inside, simple, warm, welcoming.
The staff were very welcoming, showing us to our table, and taking drinks orders, which were very quickly delivered.
I had the battered fish, my friends all had the Hunters Chicken
The food was delivered promptly, as much as I love fish, I was a little envious of the chicken, which looked so good.
Couldn't fault my fish, the batter was crisp, crunchy and soft all at the same time, the chips plentiful and the Tartar sauce, on another level, obviously home made, with what I believe were slices/chunks of spring onions and herbs, it really was nice.
I had the cheesecake, with ice cream for dessert, I was very quiet when eating it, didn't want talking to interrupt my dessert ? .
It really was a lovely meal, in very pleasant surroundings, with excellent food
We'll be going again.
