Disappointing experience. Ordered the salmon with lemon creme fraiche and cucumber baguette, but received an odd chutney with salmon instead. The waitress was unhelpful and refused to replace the dish, only offering more creme fraiche. After insisting, they reluctantly exchanged the baguette but served the same salmon with a minimal attempt to remove the chutney. Overall, poor customer service and hospitality. Hopefully, improvements will be made in handling such situations or updating the menu to accurately reflect the offerings.

Fabulous experience from start to finish. Greeted by the owner, swift check in and my room was beautifully decorated with great amenities - fridge with plenty of water, air con, quality bathrobe and crisp white bed linen. Fabulous bathroom with walk in shower and a large feature bath … Noble toiletries are always a bonus. Dinner in Prevost was EXCEPTIONAL. Each course delivered to our table by a knowledgeable member of the kitchen team & each course accompanied by a paired wine. It is the second time that I have stayed here and eaten at Prevost and I cannot WAIT to return.

After we visited back in August for fish and chips which was AMAZING, we couldn't wait to come back to try the burger. We are both burger obsessed and means we can be fussy... this was hands down one of the best burgers we've ever eaten. They were so kind and let us add bacon (bar menu). Nothing felt like too much trouble and service was faultless. Everything was cooked to perfection and the chips were spectacular too. The interiors are gorgeous, the grounds are stunning... honestly a must visit if you are in the area.

We stopped off here on our journey to Lincolnshire on a Sunday morning for coffee. Ordered 2 flat whites and water. I had to remind 3 different memof staff about our coffees before they eventually arrived 30 mins later! The water didn't arrive at all. Not worth the £10 we paid. This hotel has staffing issues and 3 staff phoned in sick on the Sunday morning. We were told this on arrival but as there were no other places serving coffee in the village at the time we decided to wait. The cafe opposite the hotel has now permanently closed. The coffee was very good and the inside is beautifully refurbished but I would find somewhere else to stop off for a coffee as the whole experience was stressful!

After a shocking stay in another hotel last week i was filled with dread about booking another hotel that purported to be a country house hotel with fine dining. Well that dread was certainly mis-placed, upon arrival at the Haycock Manor Hotel everything is as described and to be fair the description the owner and team have put together is modest to say the least. I was blown away by the location, the quality of the finish throughout the entire hotel, the service from the front of house was exceptional and more akin to a 5 star resort. The food served by the restaurant was also 1st class. The room rate i paid certainly didnt reflect the high standard of the hotel and to be honest you would struggle to get a chain hotel for this price . I am a staunch advocate of you get what you pay for but the Haycock delivers exceptional value for money. I had a double room with patio which looked lovely on the images, probably not the most expensive room in the hotel but perfect for a business stop over. The room was faultless. Newly refurbished and with an attention to the highest detail and finished off with every home comfort you need for a stay. I particularly like the idea of having a TV which is ready connected to all streamed channels including Sky sports and Sky F1. Beds where very comfy with lovely linen. Room was spotless. If you like your showers powerful then this is your place!!! I hate hotel showers that take hours to warm up and then you have to stand underneath for 5 minutes to get wet. Again not here!!!, the showers will pin you to the wall if you want which is amazing after a stressful day of long drives and meetings. You will be invigorated and ready for the day after this shower!!! The service team in the restaurant are a credit to the hotel, they were very attentive and ensured i had everything i needed and more importantly my glass was full. The quality of the food versus the price was as expected and certainly in line with what i had experienced in the rest of the hotel. The finest ingredients cooked perfectly and at a price you would pay anywhere on the high street. Fillet steak and all the trimmings £40 wow!!! Ohh the chef does the best triple cooked chips anywhere (FACT). Well done to all the team in delivering what i think is the best hotel i have ever stayed at here in the UK. Keep up the great work i will be back soon.

Went here for lunch, what a mistake. Faulty Towers has nothing on this place. No staff around, sat for over an hour waiting for a coffee, dinner service was appalling. A waitress had absolutely no idea regarding etiquette, No people skills, slammed plates down, leaned over our guests to serve, communication skills were non existent. The waiting times were just dreadful, then they got the order’s wrong or orders were forgotten altogether. The staff were just incredibly rude with complete nonchalance. This place was so bad it turned out to be hilarious. Please, just don’t bother with this hideous place, it’s not what it describes on the website

A stunning venue and wonderful afternoon tea experience. Amazing service from every member of staff we keep in contact with! Genuinely asked ALLOT of the team to support an event and they never blinked to accommodate us! Superb… would highly recommend!

Firstly, ignore the recent highly negative reviews, posted in a coordinated fashion because the group didn’t get their own way. They should be utterly ashamed of themselves. The hotel is a lovely old building, refurbished in a modern theme. It’s only classified as a 3 Star. It’s definitely a 4. Comfortable, spacious and very good customer service. Breakfast was excellent and we ate in Prevost, a fine dining addition to the hotel’s Brasserie. Prevost is superb, wonderful food, cooked with passion and an eye for detail. Thoroughly recommend.

This was our third visit to the Haycock in the last 15 months. As on previous occasions, we had a wonderful stay. The Hotel is set in beautiful, peaceful surroundings by the river and has its own attractive gardens. After checking in, we relaxed with a coffee in the courtyard. We met the owner, who gave us some useful recommendations for nearby places to visit in the afternoon. Actually, we have found all the staff members to be helpful, friendly and attentive on all of our visits to the Haycock. We particularly enjoyed the wonderful meal in the evening in the Brasserie. my wife said the rump of lamb was to die for. From an extremely extensive choice at breakfast the following morning, I chose the Eggs Royale which was truly delicious. The food here is superb! Our accommodation was another highlight of our stay. We both slept really well in a comfortable bed with amazingly comfortable pillows. The room was really spacious and had an equally large ensuite with bath and shower. All the quality room complementaries that you would expect were available, including bath robes. The hotel seems to be growing in popularity as a wedding venue, as we came across two wedding groups during our stay this time, almost getting mixed up in some informal wedding shots of one party! In all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay again and would highly recommend The Haycock to anyone looking for somewhere to stay that exudes comfort and quality.

Really good food, very well cooked, presented and full of flavour. On way to a Michelin * Waiting staff very pleasant and attentive. Building and environment top class, great decor. Only thing that let it down was the setting of the breakfast tables whilst still eating /chatting at 9.30

Met the MOST HORRIBLE OWNER OF A HOTEL. I organised a dinner for the team of 30 on our last night of the travel club in this hotel. We were having a dinner, some music and team building games at the courtyard. While we are dancing a man in tracksuit and shirt just came straight to us and switched off our music without a warning. He said its already 11pm and we are disturbing the residents. We were all surprise by his action without speaking to us in a good manner. We then all decided to go inside the bar as we have all been there for the last 2 nights. We are fun & music lover people so we decided to play some music in the bar piano. We have been told by the bar tender that we are allowed to play the piano until 12 midnight. One of our colleagues went to the piano to play some music. This same man came and said not to play the piano. One of our colleagues said to him that we know that we have been allowed by the bar tender to play until midnight as we’ve been there for the last 2 nights. He then introduced himself as the owner and he will tell his staff about this. We obliged with his request although we are confused about their policy. Does he have a different policy? Does the staff have different policy too? I then approached him about his action of switching off the music without speaking to us nicely first. I said to him, we are professional, business owner too and sensible people so he could have just spoken to one of us to switch off the music and there’s no need to go there straight without a word and switching it off. His reply was, ” I don’t think so as I could see that you are all insensible anyway”. By the way we are all coloured people. This man, Steve, claiming the owner and General Manager of the hotel as what his staff knows needs customer service training and his manner needs polishing. A very rude, unprofessional, and I feel that he was racist towards us because of his reply to me. This morning, at the reception, he approached me. I was expecting an apology instead, he reprimanded me for my review and said he will call all the group of hotels to block list our company, he will also put a review in social media about our company and he will email the our head office. I recorded partly my conversation with him with his permission. He was threatening me and did not give me a chance to speak my view but rather he turned his back and walked away. By the way, we booked the place for a dinner and some party which by the way the food and the table arrangements was very disappointing for a price of £40 per head.

Very rude owner! Rubbish food! Rude staff! Expensive for a 3 star! Without any provocation while we are having a party, just came and just shot down our music in a very rude and disrespectful way. ??? This Steve claiming to be the owner of this hotel acted like a racist! I've been travelling all over the world and this hotel was the worst I've ever been!

Food is not good. Facilities are bad, considering the price is expensive. It is not worth the price. This is a zero star experience This hotel lost on big customer. If you are planning a business retreat or travel club with your company, this place is to avoid

Had the most amazing 24 hour stay over at Haycock Manor, what a hidden gem this hotel is. I love hotels which come with history and this hotel does that, the outside of the venue is still original and stunning, a great location just of the motorway. I attended a business event at the hotel and everything was wonderful. I think my room was the best part of stay, the bathroom and bed out of this world!
