Honestly, somehow Cromwell Cottage has managed to balance the atmosphere of a warm pub, with restaurant standard food and Jess who served us was exceptional (great sense of humour, with a lovely balance between being attentive and giving us space to enjoy our dinner). The lamb shank was ridiculously good. And who knew you could make a chip out of dauphinois potatoes - life changing! We feel very lucky to have CC so close to us. Really treat. Love it!

The service was really slow, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy.We ordered the roast for 2 to share for £60. It was shocking, it was served on a plate, not a board as advertised, it was barely warm and you can tell it was just the scraps that they had left. They didn’t serve the Yorkshire puddings, when they did they were freezing cold.We ordered additional stuffing, had this not of been on the “board” it would have been empty. Was definitely disappointed as I heard such good reviews since the refurb, will definitely not be going back to pay £90 for 2 drinks, 1 starter and a roast.

Service excellent, food not so good for the price we paid, not hot enough and portion size of lemon tart and veg, meat not all cooked to how we asked.

Our food was lovely, and complimented perfectly by our server Michaela, she was incredibly helpful, and answered all of our needs without hesitation. Would definitely recommend!!!

Food good but service was slow. It was busy so to be expected but friendly none the less.Rotisserie chicken was superb especially the gravy.

Food was great bit slow on service but it was a busy Sunday so understandable. Would definitely visit

Expensive! Sadly, the vegan menu is severely lacking too — no chips with a burger? Lovely premises, though, and polite staff.

Love your new decor, very nice. Staff were all very helpful and lovely. Food, on the whole was very good, only small criticism, the beef was far too rare and the cauliflower cheese was just cauliflower, no cheese. Other than that, we had a lovely lunch, I think next time we visit we will try your normal al la carte menu. Well done team Cromwell....

I took my elderly mother here on the reopening. Despite the fact that they were clearly busy, they took time to find a suitable table and check we were ok. The decor is very welcoming, there was a roaring fire in the hearth, the outside will be fantastic when the weather improves as well - lighting and music in the seating areas. The service was fantastic, food was excellent - mum had the cod and chips, which was huge, I had the king prawn, crab, chorizo and scallops linguine - a fantastic combination of flavours! I can’t wait to go back and try some of the other options. Thank you!

Just a great environment and very good service.Had a RibEye steak. It was cooked to a perfect Medium result and the fat was seared to bring out the best flavour at the edge of the cut. A tender cut with lots of flavour. The rest of the plate was also very nicely presented, and there was a good, sharp steak knife.Table felt sticky. would be good to resolve that, and to make sure tables don't wobble, but other than that I have no issues. The Service was polite, professional and prompt without being pushy.Felt relaxed and got everything in good time. They have a super chilled and comfortable bar/lounge are to take your drinks to when you finish your meal too. Love this place and thoroughly recommend it to anyone of any age.

Cromwell Cottage offers a good lunch menu at 2 courses for £18.95 and the dishes we tried were delicious, a great traditional pub and the refurbishment looks great. They also do a delicious Sunday roast aswell, will be returning soon..
