“Never been in before but met friend for a lunchtime drink. Bar was well appointed and quiet, perfect for a chat. Restaurant looked inviting as did menu, would certainly return for a meal.”

“Absolutely blown away by the quality of this barbecue place. Everything we ate was juicy and tender. The beef short rib is easily the best I've eaten, with a mustard-dill sauce that brought together the smoke and the fat beautifully. Be warned though, it's not for the light of appetite. It came up as two short ribs with a generous amount of meat on each. A short rib dish as a main is usually one rib, and rich enough to be plenty! We (two hungry people) shared this and a Smoke Pit House platter for one and it was too much between us.The cocktail menu is theatre in itself and I wish I'd been able to try a few more because each is different and in its own way fabulous. The rubber ducky is memorable.Staff-wise everything went perfectly smoothly even for a large and chaotic table. They were brilliant from first order to last morsel.Dietary restrictions: The restaurant has a binder with the legislated-for allergens. I have to say this isn't my preferred approach as I'm dealing with intolerance rather than allergy. There are items marked as containing an ingredient even if it's just the potential for cross contamination, such as they're cooked in the same fryer as an item containing an ingredient. This makes the options look extremely limited, though they are good at highlighting things that can be separated - e.g. milk in the sauce only. After a lot of page flipping I'd found a starter and main combination that worked.I had a really nice meal there and would absolutely go again, but would not recommend it for vegans (I know it seems obvious but there's often a vegan in a group and there is little to nothing for them) or for those with a milk allergy as most menu items are either containing milk or could be contaminated.”
