The worst experience ever. The tables and chairs sticky and dirty. The hot chocolates and lattes were awful, not flavour. I will not recommend to anyone .The cakes were dry for the price we paid. ????

RL was very quiet. We arrived at 10:50 to have a quick drink. We waited behind one lady who had not yet been served for 10 minutes whilst the lady serving was chatting at length to a lady at the drink collection point. She finally served the lady in front of me, then left the counter for another 10 minutes at which point I’d been stood waiting for twenty minutes. There were 2 staff on but the drink making lady kept disappearing out the back. I was planning to buy a savoury meal but the leaves in the Brie and cranberry baguette were wilted and old looking. See photo. The hot drinks weren’t being served in proper cups but paper cups. When I paid, my card which always works fine wasn’t recognised by the card reader and the lady serving told me that Capital One cards always play up. The servers had blue gloves on but were handling money and then the food rendering the glove wearing exercise pointless. Poor service, no manners or friendliness for a very quiet day at RL. Shan’t be returning.

This company has to the next one on the lisit of companies that will close, what a dump . Worn , dirty and staff who really don't care. Toilets were out of order , outside tables full of bird muck . The whole appreance of the place was we don't care ! . Scone afternoon tea arrived on a plastic butlins style tray , clearly frozen then warmed up as rock hard .coffee far too strong . Please people don't book it was awful and nothing French about it . I couldn't add photos but would of loved too

Tasty cakes but the place is very dirty.Apart from this is quite expensive for what you get.

We ordered 2 sandwiches and 2 coffees. From the off, the place looked understaffed Coffee was good, the sandwiches less so. The bread, even for sourdough was a bit tough and the side salad well past it it's best. We're hoping this is just a one off, as we normally love the food at Pattiserie Valerie

Such a shame and very disappointing. We went here to meet up with family to open up my daughters gcse results. We ended up not staying. The tables were filthy, the fake leather chairs all ripped, no menus. We ended wiping the tables ourselves and standing up at the counter for nearly 10 mins. Staff buzzed in and out (along with the flies), completely ignored us so we left. After reading the other reviews about bad service and dry cakes I am glad we did leave. £9 for a toasted sandwich in here. Not a chance. We won’t be returning

Had an afternoon tea voucher, so went in to use it today. The 2 girls serving did amazing as they were so short staffed. The food was nice and although they said there would be a wait, it didn't take too long. The place looks generally tired and needs revamping, but due to the lovely staff today, it was a good experience.

Went in for afternoon tea. All outside and many inside tables were dirty. Chairs are old and worn. Tea itself was OK/average. Having been to several local places I found better.

This place became worse every time come in. Orribile furniture, dubious fridge efficiency, dirty spoons and full of dust expresso cup.

Thinking a treat for afternoon tea, I have to say with was underwhelming and disappointing. The place was clean, tables cleared and toilets were also clean. The drinks (tea) were lovely, and given the cloudy and rainy day, were lovely and warming. So why the 3/5 rating. There was quite a wait at the front before even being acknowledged. Young staff saw me, but it wasn’t til the manager I assume, came to the front my order was taken. The teas came promptly and we were warned about a delay for the food of about 20mins, but it came within about 10. The sandwiches- the chicken ones were a tad dry, cucumber were just cucumber and the ham and mustard mayo saving the day. The scones were delicious, warm. But had to ask for more cream as unless you are only having a teaspoon of cream on each of the 4 scones one pot wouldn’t be enough. BUT at least asking for another came without additional cost. Cakes, seemed a bit old…. The profiterole was well, I’d say 4/10, the strawberry gateaux slice - probably a 6 and the chocolate one - didn’t taste very nice, rather bitter and just ‘old’. The attention and service was lacking, didn’t seem to be much initiative or customer interaction. Almost that customers were an inconvenience. It would be good to have all the paperwork not stored front of house behind the til, just looked messy and you almost felt sorry that if this is where all the paperwork had to be done, poor managers. Overall, nothing to write home about. It was ok, but that’s about all.

Thoroughly enjoyed working with Patisserie Valerie and the team at Rushden Lakes on todays fundraising event. Thank you for being such generous hosts, and catering to our needs! Cannot wait to work with Dale, Tasha, Toni, Ellie and Shanelle again! We are currently looking at booking more events in like it.

Lovely experience here today Food and scone’s amazing and the service from Shanelle, Emily and Toni was exceptional. Great atmosphere and the toilets were spotless. Nice to see such a positive turn around at the best Pat Val Around.

All tables filthy with food, had to clean it myself. Toilets with overflowing bins, dirty tissues all over the floor, no soap in dispenser to wash hands. Wrong sandwiches served, told it would be another 20 minutes. The food was inedible. £5.25 for what should have been a bacon on a brioche bun but they served sausage (see picture) Nearly £30 for 3 sandwiches and 3 coffee's I wouldn't mind paying this if it was clean and okay food. If it wasn't pay up front app table service I wouldn't have paid. I'm shocked how this company is still trading.
