Great find! This is a great and comfortable bed and breakfast, not a 5 star hotel, run in their own home.Good size room, king size bed, chest of drawers, chair, dressing table, wardrobe, bedside drawers, mini fridge, good size tv and large en-suite bathroom.Decent size tv has freeview and various streaming apps, mini fridge has water, Diet Pepsi, larger and wine. Towels and bedding are not new but clean and functional.Yes there is noise from the A1 because you are right next to it. There is double glazing but some noise does get through in the background and does almost stop through the night.Breakfast was not too big or small, 3 x thick/normal bacon, nice sausage, egg, mushrooms, beans, tomato, toast and coffee. There is a buffet with cereal, fresh fruit, fruit juice, fruit salad with fresh strawberries and jams. The people who run the place are very friendly and welcoming. They are knowledgeable about the history of this 17c coaching house. Even Queen Victoria stopped here on her travels to and from Scotland, in room No.1Lots of off road parking towards the back of the property. Plenty of local hostelries in the surrounding area to eat at and places to visit.Yes we would stay here again.

Honestly was not a bad nights stay. Slept comfortably all night and woke up to a nice cook breakfast. The gentleman who runs the place was polite and made me feel welcome.

A lovely place to stay. Owners & staff are welcoming, friendly & attentative. The full english breakfast is lovely. Nothing is too much trouble. We have stayed here twice now & shall keep going back ? xRooms: Rooms are spacious, have comfortable beds & furniture to sit/relax on. Have TV if you want to watch programmes. The rooms & en-suite bathrooms are very clean ?

Stayed at this B&B for one night to attend a 50th birthday party in the area . Had a very spacious room which had everything i needed . The owner was very accommodating & helpful as i needed transport to & from the venue . He helped organise that & offered to help me himself . It was a very comfortable bed & a nice homely place .

We booked 2xdeluxe double rooms and when we checked in were shown to a cold, damp, dirty 2 bed cottage with only 2 of 4 radiators working and one bath towel between the two of us. We complained and were 'upgraded' to a bungalow. Radiator in twin bedroom didn't work, TV had no aerial and it was so cold I slept with the duvets from both beds, fully clothed to keep warm. Radiator in double bedroom worked but as place was so damp wasn't man enough to take the chill off. Bathroom was warm but dated and dirty. My friend tried to get warm with a hot shower and slept on the kitchen sofa as it was warmer than the bedrooms. We complained in the morning and were given a 50% refund and declined breakfast. The owner reversed the refund after we had left. Which is fraud!!!! Owner saw my honest review and phoned me next day and was very abusive. Called me a bitch, a cow and a liar. He said not only had he reversed the refund, he was charging me an extra £40 as claimed we had taken dogs into the room - which is untrue! If you don't mind cold, damp, dirty, accommodation when you've booked deluxe rooms, and an abusive owner, then go ahead and book. Otherwise avoid it at all costs - there's a good travelodge a stones throw away!!!!

A fascinating former farmhouse steeped in history, mystery and intrigue, documented throughout the building. The proprietors are amongst the most helpful I have ever met.Best place to stay for anyone travelling on the A1, or in the Stamford / Grantham area.No chain hotel can offer anywhere near the same ambience.

friendly hosts, clean but slightly dated but in keeping with property, comfortable nights sleep, although the constant noise of the A1 had trouble getting off to sleep, lovely breakfast, very akward getting back onto A1 when leaving
